More than just mental. Cintron's power comes at the end of his punches. Margarito isn't the same kind of puncher, but he's very heavy handed all the way around. In close and on the end. He wears on guys with that sort of balanced power. Cintron has issues with anyone who digs in and stays in. That's his biggest weakness. Which is why I'd pick him over someone like Williams but not someone like Margarito. His power is not sufficient to win inside battles and his skill inside is also lacking. Doesn't tuck his elbows well, leaves his body open, etc. So even if he had the mental edge, which is hard to get on a guy like Margarito anyways, he'd still be in a difficult fight everytime.
Although I find it tempting to pick the more efficient, more consistant Margarito, I might have to make the same mistake I made in their first fight and pick Cintron. But this time I've got amunition- he's got an edge with momentum. What's that? Well, Margarito lost a decisive, yet competitive decision to Paul Williams (who lost to Quintana...) while Cintron has been scoring some highlight reel knockouts (Mathesye!!!!) over C-B level fighters. Cintron's technique and timing appears to have improved (and his defense) while Margarito is still technically sound. Cintron, Twelve Round Decision
The only way I see Cintron winning is by KO or TKO. If it goes to UD, Margo will win. Don't know if Cintron is mentally ready.
Great analysis I agree. Cintron much like Andy Lee doesn't have a inside fighting game. He does infact need space in order to be effective.
Margo again but quicker. Much quicker. Margo eats him for breakfast. Then he sits down to watch the main event.
If Cintron's hand doesn't break and he can take Margarito into the late rounds I will predict Cintron by KO late.
Manny Is A Talent Destroyer.... If Kermit Can Only Make It A Fight With Steward By His Side, Imagine What He Could Do Without Him... Just A Thought!
Exactly the reason why I can't see him winning this fight, that along with the fact that I'm still double guessing Cintron's heart in the ring. He's a great fighter who has all the offensive tools and attributes and he knows how to fight like a big man and doesn't give up his size much in the ring, uses his jab very well and is by far the biggest puncher in the welterweight division, but with all that said, it's the intangibles and mental toughness along with the rough and tumble style that Margarito posesses that will allow him to beat Cintron yet again, I still think Margarito's first beating of Kermit is still very vivid in Cintron's mind and that it will be in the back of his mind in the ring and he will feel inferior to Margarito and that could cause him to mentally break down like he did the first time around. I'm rooting for Cintron deep down inside, but my money is on Margarito.
Cintron just cant handle pressure and Margo's chin is granite. I dont see how you people are picking Cintron.
