I can’t have her winning 5,6 and 7 in any way . Gray also had her winning the 2nd !

Shields won first 4 by a big margin. Don't even think they were open for debate tbh.

Would have been my tactics for them first four or five rounds anyway. I think shields would have started closing that gap tho and pushing her back if needed. Agree tho marshall should have forced her to try to do it. Shields was getting 3s and 4s off at times. Not all hitting but hard to deal with when she can get 3 and 4,s off to your ones or two,s.

Just a better all round boxer and too much speed for marshall. Was stronger and hitting harder tonight than anytime i,ve seen her as well. Think at some point in that fight tho to win you needed to try to oppose yourself on shields knowing marshalls strengths. By the time it could have ever been effective....marshall had already put too much into it.

Had to fight early behind the double jab. Not easy hitting shields tho....or keeping her off without working harder than you want to be working.

Yes agree but best chance. In fairness I think the way boxing is scored, it could have went anyway as I think Sav edged alot of rounds. If a football match, Shields would have been 3 or 4 up at half time with Sav winning secund half one nil.

Sky commentary team extremely biased . I thought Marshall was better and I was very disappointed in her approach. If Shields had any real pop in her punches Savannah would have been hospitalised.

Marshall defo gave it a good go. One of them tho the first four was so good for shields its like peoples minds are made up from there. Thought shields was edging a few of them rounds after bagging the first four as well. She was tired but marshall was exhausted after 4 good fitness kept her going. Just a pity she couldnt have depleted shields a bit more and kept herself from being too depleted. By the time she was landing the power wasnt quite there. I dont think the power would have been enough anyway. Shields good upper body movement. Very good at taking the sting out of shots etc.

I like Peter Fury but I largely agree that what we heard didn’t sound very helpful. He kept advising her to “make Shields miss and then respond”. Which as far as I’m concerned would have been ineffective because Shields was too quick. Better strategy would have been for Marshall to accept she would take punches but trade anyway (i.e. take a couple of punches to land one big punch) and to keep working the body.

Tbf that’s what she appeared to be doing anyway. I thought Peter would have implored her to stay long and focus on the body when in range but he didn’t say that at all as far as I heard.

Biggest night of her career & if I've seen a more lacklustre corner I can't think of it...."4 minutes left let her have it" going into the 9th sums it up, no urgency, no plan b. I understand Marshall peaked 5 weeks ago & it probably made a small difference but shields faced the same conditions.

Shields had to switch time zones 3 times - Marshall definitely had the advantage.

Anthony Fowler saying it was a draw. No limit to how thick that guy is.

I guess looking back on last night, Sky got what it wanted. A decent scrap with a clear top-drawer champion who knows she'll make a few bob fighting in London now. Sky can continue the narrative that "women belong on the big stage" and pretend the dreadful undercard didn't happen.

Shields is talking about fighting Jonas next which will please Sky and hopefully that bins any idea of a Marshall rematch.

No doubt Mayer will beg for a rematch in the US and let's see if she bothers being a Sky pundit again!

Seen a few people connected with Matchroom saying ‘well done Shields but Katie Taylor is still the GWOAT’ boring fookers.

Shields - 2x Olympics gold, 3 weight world champion. 27 years of age. End of debate.
