I wouldn't put too much store into Marshall beating Shields before- it was 10 years ago, under a different code, Claressa was very young, both have changed and grown. But it may not be completely irrelevant for two reasons. One, that unlike any other opponent, Marshall will enter the ring with the confidence of knowing that she beat Shields before. Two- it seems to me that Shields greatest strengths are God-given, instinctive and so she would have possessed these from early in her career- namely her remarkable speed both of shot and of defensive evasion and her warrior-spirit, her will to dominate. Although she was very young when Marshall fought her she was the new sensation in women's boxing. No-one could handle her speed and aggression- but Marshall evidently did. Maybe that's significant.

Remember Clareesa was a 17 year old girl a teenager then and she is 200% better now whereas Marshall was in her 20s. I don’t think Marshall is confident at all which is why she needs to be pumped and needs to fight at home. Shields skills have been worked on the combination of talent and hard work. Skills wise she is by far the best female fighter I have come across that is why she is able to hold her own with men in sparring. Also the win awarded to Marshall in the amateurs was a disputed one as it was not exactly clear cut and it’s the respective responses to that match that are instructive. Like Mayweather, Shields used it to improve her game and became a 2 times Olympics Gold medalist whereas Marshall choked at the Olympics. She is a choker who fails under the bright lights.

63-18 favor Marshall so far, on a Boxing Forum where the members know a whole lot more about boxing than the average person. 63-18 is a significant margin. And the odds makers slightly favor Marshall. Marshall can also go after Shields with little to worry about from her punches. The opposite is not true since Marshall can really hit with power! Shields best chances involve staying on the outside and boxing, and she may be able to do that, but I think I'll be betting on Marshall being able to hunt Shields down often and putting some serious hurting on her.

Marshall is far better than Tillman and Whyte, Fury wasn`t a good amateur Shields prides herself on her amateur pedigree.

Tillman was too small for Tyson, Marshall is far bigger and more powerful than Shields.

Just saw this fight takes place in September. Going by the discussion I was expecting this to be within the next couple of weeks.

Shows how much you know because Shields is going to give her a mix of things but essentially she will be on Marshall disarming her and beating the **** out of her. The abuse Marshall is going to take and receive makes me feel sorry for her. The people on this forum predicting Marshall to win are doing so because they hate Shields. Their predictions are not based on knowledge or objectivity. I looking forward to the excuses. I am as confident as I was Tyson Fury had Beyoncé Wilder’s number and when I made by pre-fight predictions especially the stoppage in the 2nd fight people on here and in the industry thought I was mad especially my confidence in the prediction.

Watching the press conference Marshallseems spooked and uncomfortable under the bright lights no wonder she ran away from Las Vegas. I love that Shields brought all her belts plus the 2 Olympics Gold medals to wind up Marshall.

Marshall will beat Shields because we've obviously never seen a puncher outboxed before.
