Lots of great fighters today. Established guys like Crawford, Uysk, Benavidez,Bivol, Inoue and old lions like Lomo and GGG. I also like guys that aren't necessarily stars of the sport like Issac Cruz or Butaev.

As so for all time favorites, there are just so many. I pretty much watch boxing every day whether it's a new fight like this weekends DAZN card or classic fights involving old favorites like McCallum, Duran, Charles etc.

    Hi Buddy.
Your stance is very similar to my own, I know very little about current fighters, not helped by to many champs, which I believe devalues the title, to many organizations, the politics, the fake pressers, the language is deplorable, the scant times the current crop fight, seems to me, after almost all the big fights, they hibernate for months, even longer, so boring, my time was the late 60s to mid 70s, for my mind the best years in boxing, and some of the ATGs plied their trade.
    stay safe mr magoo.

I stopped following around the turn of the century. No, smartasses, not 1900.

I just don't relate to the modern game anymore. It's too fragmented now, too many titles, too much posturing on the part of the fighters at weigh-ins and press conferences. It's not supposed to be WWE, settle down fellas. I just don't have any interest in it at all. It's almost as if it's not boxing to me, I just dismiss it outright. Probably to my detriment, but whatever. If I'm not feeling it, I'm not feeling it. There are many many more classic fights to watch on youtube, and that keeps me as busy with boxing as I want to be.

boxing has a lot of negatives.

it's the pinnacle. mma is the best fighters, soccer has the most guys getting paid millions. cycling has guys riding thousands of miles to maybe have a chance to win the tour de france.

    boxing is boxing, it's special.

Although i feel the standard of boxing now is not as good as it was in previous years, i still follow it closely

I'm too old to sit up 'til 5am to watch someone I want to see fight fight someone I'm not interested in seeing them fight.

not really, IF I hear of a big fight then I will try and watch it... I don't subscribe to Cable or Satellite TV, I have No Sports or Boxing Channels, so rarely do I even hear about a Fight nevermind see one, and many that I have seen in recent years 'underwhelm' i.e Usyk's last fight there.

I read from my Collection, Newspaper Archives and the Internet, which doesn't throughout the same sources you used to find. So not really.

What style fighter's do you like? How about weightclass? If you like swarmers or inside guys check out Issac Cruz. The guy is an absolute wrecking ball and one of my favorites. As for guys on the cusp of breaking out, Morrell at Super middleweight has a belt and going to be a start. Xander Zayas is a young former national champion that is about to really start making noise. Lots of talented fighter's these days.

I like them both. Castano was robbed in his first fight Charlo. Seems like he has been out of the ring for awhile now. I'm also a fan of Stanionis. If you want to watch a bruising fight, check out Stanionis vs Butaev. Two of my favorite bangers.

    I still follow it.

The one thing that classic boxing can't give you, is a fight that you don't know the outcome of.

Thanks George. At the end of the day, I have come to terms with what the sport truly is. The focus has to be on the fighters and off of the rest the stuff that is just noise. We have tremendous warriors today just like we did at the beginning and there are always amazing moments in this sport at every level. Today's fighters are not the celebrities that the guy's from the 20's, 30's and 40's were but they are every bit as good

On another note, the big card this weekend should be good. Lots of intriguing matchups that will no doubt produce an upset or two.
