Look how he stands in front of Brook after the clinch, basically inviting him to throw punches. He does it every fight. He stands still with hands up, lets the other guy punch him, then he does that taunt thing.

kell got my respect that's for sure.

Damn look at the dramatic end of this fight.
It reminds me of a Louis/Rocky vs. Walcott/Charles matchup style.

    Is this 2016 or 1946?!

He either does it because he can afford to or he just can't move his head to save his life....

I just wish we had the big bangers of the past to really see how great his chin is, somehow I don't think he'd be so eager to take shots then....

Golovkin is very durable. When his opponents punches land on him, it's night and day between their reaction when he lands on them. Any person who can put their gloves down and let their opponents land combos on them that seemingly do no damage has a pretty good chin.

Golovkin can be knocked down the same way Louis was. With a good counter punch while Golovkin comes in with force. A good puncher can definitely put golovkin down. But put him out? I think that will take rounds and rounds of heavy work from a slugger or a great puncher.

He has a good chin no doubt but if he's taking shots for the sake of it he's stupid, they might not be stunning him badly but even shots off a blown up welterweight will have lasting effects, the man is still flesh and bones.

I like GGG, his power, his ring smarts, his no bull**** attitude but despite his flashes of chilling devastation sometimes I feel I'm looking at someone very beatable, still not fully convinced if he faced a great fighter....

He needs to hamper down on discipline as he faces better talent, no doubt.

If he cranked it up a notch you'd swear he was trying to be like Max Baer.

"He broke my eye socket in the second round. I was seeing three or four of him," Brook said.

God I hate this old school nostalgic super hero talk of powe-oh wait...

I can't see him beating Ward, apart from Canelo where can he go? He's no spring chicken at nearly 35, sadly he's been out of the limelight undeservedly so...

Tbh Brook said he expected him to hit harder, he was getting busted up no doubt...

Quality fight. I think Golovkin underestimated Brook a little. I think he respected Brook but figured he could walk through him. Brook showed great counter punching ability, a great core (middle) to lean back and still counter with solid torque. Most importantly he showed a great chin. Golovkin caught him numerous times with Flush straight rights and he took them well especially for his first fight at Middle.
Golovkin got sloppy and frustrated. Not his best performance by a mile but the fight was over even if the stoppage was premature. Brook was running all over the ring and not throwing punches. He was hurt and wasn't coming back. I think the corner said let's save him for another day. And for what it's worth Roy Jones said the round before he was going to quit so maybe the corner gave him the out.
As it was he gave a tremendous performance. I had it 2-2 through 4 obviously he was losing 5 Big before the stoppage.

Thought Golovkin could of won the fight with his jab. He landed it at will but I think he lost discipline trying for KO. Brook used distance great and his lean back was superb Golovkin missed 20 times or more with his vaunted lead hook.

I think he takes out Ward and Kovalev. Ideally, it would be a great end to his career.

gg v kovalev would be one hell of a fight, i'd favor sergei. the ward fight just doesn't interest me, gg would be a shoe in atg if he could win it tho.

I agree GGG could have ended it in the first round. Don't listen to anyone else. He held back unnecessarily and later got frustrated a few times with the bottle Brook showed,, but if you watch with the sound down...whilst two were landing only one of them was falling apart. People were surprised with The balls Brook had. But he was way out of his depth. Made no impression. Was proberbly full of drugs too. I'm waiting for the list of injuries to come out. Eddie Hearn is a total mugg. He might have ruined a good champion. Remember Marty Servo?
