Wilders shoulder snap is still a work in progress. His late arrival is definitely apparent. He has the opportunity to further develop his punching, to deliver similar power in tighter angles and with more control. But the raw ability is there, and the the shoulder snap technique is being utilized in its bare form. My prediction is that we will see noticeable improvements in his punching form in his next several bouts.

Agree. Canelo doesn't impress against movers, but against someone who will stand in front him it's a different proposition.

Porter is the only real name on his resume and Thurman beat Porter more convincingly than Brook did who only got a majority decision.

Got this today, posted on the British Forum. I thinks its disgraceful.
    Posted by Frankel.
They hatched a plan pre-fight, as soon as the pressure is applied STOP THE FIGHT. it was diabolical, cheating the fans with a premature pre-planned stoppage. PPV customers should be refunded, it was a farce. The fans in attendence booed long and loud. A factured eye-socket, they pleaded.

Greatness largely depends on resume, and it's a bit early right now to make that call.

For now, I can say he is a tremendous talent. Very entertaining, dynamic and creative fighter.

Can't wait to watch more of his fights!

I'm okay if this thread is eventually moved, but mods can we keep it here for a while?

    >>Okay it did not take long to move. I would keep it where it was for the week, then move it, but I'm not a mod!

    Joshua vs Parker:

    Quick thoughts:

Parker is likely the 2nd best man Joshua has fought. That could change of course if he wins!

This could be the last highly rated heavyweight boxing match in a while as Joshua vs.Wilder seems further apart. We might not see #1 vs. #2 or vs #3-5 in a while after this one.

To me the fight is about Joshua's flaws and if Parker is durable and game enough to exploit them. Parker was never down as an amateur ( over 60 fights ) or as a pro.

I give Parker a 33% chance to upset. He's in his prime with fast hands. If only hit a little harder or had longer arms...

Best guess: Joshua on points ( 7-4-1 ) or a very late TKO.

I didn`t want to scroll back to reply to Reznik about this comment saying Wilder is better than AJ! Wilder wasn`t a super heavy when he fought Ortiz because he weighed the same as Ali did when he trained down to 214lbs to fight Cooper with more foot speed to avoid being caught by another devastating hook! AJ is much heavier than 214lbs and Wilder`s legs are too thin to take AJ`s shots to say Wilder is some mega puncher of new genertics is wrong Shavers would have knocked Wilder out he doesn`t impress me at all.

Both men have come in very very light. Lightest for Parker in two years, lightest for Joshua in four years. Speed and stamina I guess.

I think Parker’s chances improve the longer the fight goes. He has a lot more rounds of experience than Joshua. He does 12 rounds.

    - But he still has to avoid getting knocked out by such a fast starter with a dangerous punch.

So I’m picking Joshua to win before 7. After that point I think Parker has a good chance to take josh the distance because he’s at least as good as Takam was, without being as small or as likely to cut.

Seriously would not be surprised if Parker stopped Josh late.

AJ was in danger of putting on too much muscle imo.Im picking him to win late but 6/1 Parker is tempting he has a 30% chance imo and I would not be astonished if he did it.
Either way my beers are in the outside fridge and my son in law ,where we are all watching it, lives just across the road so a good night is hoped for.As for the support,I'd love Pricey to connect with his right hand and drop Povetkin ,but I think he is out of his league.

Early on in their careers I thought Parker was the better prospect. However AJ has really rounded into form and I like that he has come in light today. I expect a Ko win for Joshua. Somewhere around the 6th round.
These two heavyweights have both fought good competition for this point in their careers in both terms of their age and number of fights. I’m glad they got this bout made quickly and are giving fans what they want. Clear cut supremacy of the division to the winner.

Yeah, there are only a few occasions, ever, when I can remember wanting a fighter to win as much as I want Price to beat Povetkin.
