It could be but Stiverne took a few good wallops and Stiverne landed a few good ones.

I was impressed that Wilder gunned for him early and on to the 5th but backed off a bit and pop-spotted BS. I think pressure would be something that would get to Wilder but that guy (Povetkin?, Fury,) may have to walk through some of Wilder's artillery and Povetkin could not do that against Vlad

I dont think much of Glazkov, the guy that gave him fits got stopped on last nights card and Scott beat him IMO

Hey, aren't you that guy that lost an account bet to me because you are horrible at picking fights and just randomly argue against certain fighters and posters you don't like? Why are you still here?

I think people are right about Wilder coming into this fight being untested, but everyone is untested until they step up.

I hardly think Wilder is the next great, but he wasn't nearly as bad as being made out to be. And he matches up very well against Stiverne who is more comfortable countering off the ropes.

Wilder could and should beat Fury, I'm just not impressed with that guy at all. He needs even more work than Wilder.

Povetkin did walk through a lot of Wlad's best shots like that short left hook, which is why Wlad was forced to hold and wrestle.

Wilder looked vulnerable on the inside the few times Stiv got in close, Povetkin should be able to tear him up with combos. And Wilder really wasn't having to work that hard after the initial rounds, Stiv looked as helpless as Arreola against Vitali.

Glazkov should be more appreciated than he is.

He beat a legit top 5 guy, yet people were still more interested in Wilder, when he hadn't beaten anybody in the top 30!

I didn't see the bout, so I can only say that Deontay Wilder should get a lot of credit for going the distance and winning a lopsided decision after 12 rounds, considering that none of his previous bouts lasted more than 4 rounds.

He did beat a burned out Adamak (who just lost again to Splika) and he deserves a low end top 10 or 15 but I have not been impressed since he beat Tor Hammer. If I had a top 50 heavyweight I would be gunning for Glazkov

I liked Stiverne because he had paid his dues in the division. Whilst there wasn't much to go on with Wilder outside of his knockout appeal at a lower level I still think it is refreshing that he was able to prove that a twenty pound weight advantage can be overcome today at world level.

Although Stiverne kept the presure on and would not quit I still think even with that lack of height he may have been better suited to wilder coming in a bit lighter too. In the later rounds Wilder was in unknown territory but Stiverne was unable to capitalize and still chugging at a somewhat restricted pace.

For a guy doing the 12 rounds for the first time I take my hat off to Wilder. He was prepared to step it up at any point in the fight he felt he could hurt Stiverne where as some modern heavyweights might have sat back and cautiously stood the round out. He will be even more comfortable with the rounds next time and because he is not carrying artificial surplus weight could have an athletic edge over the majority of the division.

There is a lot of scope for improvement but doing the rounds and being prepared to go for it when the occasion presents itself has to be quite an asset for a champion heavyweight these days.

I agree, Wilder took a page from the Klitschko's and came in light for his 6"7 height. I felt the discomfort from Stiverne (in Great condition) but carrying around a truckload of extra baggage. I think there was weight he could have dropped to be more active but may have given something away-strength doing so

    Never beaten a ranked fighter.

Two guys fighting for a HW "title" and they had never beaten a ranked guy.

RING still has Arreola in the top 10. Stiverne has the two wins over him, the knockout was at least impressive because nobody knocked out the nippleman before.
