I'm using TBRB of course - not in the ten.

Wilder is 1-0 against guys in the ten, Stiverne is 0-1.

Stiverne looked severely limited. Only once did it occur to him to switch angles when on the ropes with Wilder... and then he scored some of his best punches. Furthermore, the straight chugging approach gave Wilder the time and path to escape. And while his extra baggage certainly restricted him, his age is probably catching up to him, also.

None of this is intended to take away from Wilder who took a GIANT step forward this weekend. He trained, prepared, faced the fire and came out better.

Well, Stiverne beat a RING top 10 fighter.

Arreola was coming off the Mitchell win, which was decent at least. But he still shouldn't be in the top 10. I think Cunningham or someone like that should be in it.

He did indeed - but I personally won't go trusting a rankings system organised by a magazine owned by a promoter any more than I would the WVD. But it's all on he individual and I understand there are different tastes.

I think with a 33-0 record along with wins over Stiverne and Scott, Wilder deserves to be top 10. Calling him a "champion" is another matter entirely. But I can't think of 10 guys right now who should be ahead of him.

Ahead of who? Wilder? Wilder is inarguably top 10.

Agreed. I can't think of 10 guys who should be ahead of him, there bye warranting his top 10 rating.

I don't have a very good gauge of the talent right now to say for certain who should be ranked higher than who. Some of them are so close in credentials and ability I imagine they are interchangeable. I guess Wilder is as good of a top 4 candidate as any of them.

Yes wilder certainly proved 220 is a winning weight at world level even for a guy taller than Lennox Lewis and Rid**** Bowe.

Yes, you are correct mcgrain in the true sense neither Stiverne nor Wilder had beaten "at the time" rated guys.

I still thought Stiverne cut his teeth in the Arreola fights because he over came a guy who really came to win. I think he at least showed his metal in going more than four rounds against a live guy of a decent level. It makes Stiverne more "proven" compared to Wilder at that time.

Wilder fractured his hand he is out til summertime I wonder who he'll fight next. If not Fury who should he face next now that he has a belt.

They should get fights that we develop him into the ideal Klitschko challenger. People who match his height and guys that jab well and box on back foot.

I think Fury is a great match and a high profile fight. I'd also be interested in Povetkin. They may choose a softer touch like the winner of Thompson - Solis who in Feb are fighting for the WBC United States title....in Hungary.

Well Thompson at this point would be safe and he has the requiesete height. I think Mariusz Wach would be good too. Size and can take a punch but very slow.

Fury is a good opponent, Jennings - Klitschko next? - Povetkin for Wilder - Glazov may be a safe fight

next tier of guys still a bit away but some good comers
