Didn't you see his post fight interview. There wasn't a mark on him.

 

I also noticed that Jennings long reach was a hindrance to him and not a benefit.

He didn't know how to shorten up his punches on the inside and his long shots were thrown from too far out of range.

 

This was Wlad’s worst offensive effort in years. I was wondering if he had some sort of injury, as his confidence was very poor in this fight. He only landed solidly a few times and his offensive imagination was stale.

However he was very good on defense, showing extremely quick feet, and made Jennings miss badly a few times. His blocking was excellent, and when the ref cracked down on clinching, Wlad justed pushed his man back when needed.

Stamina was not a problem. I scored it 8-2-2 for Wlad, but he won a few rounds without distinction. Wlad’s corner was awful, and he could have used better advice.

Jennings had the right game plan to cover up, get inside and throw punches, but he wasn't going to stand and trade from the outside or half distance.

Wlad looked sharp in sparring and moved like a big Jim Corbett with his feet. Usually when a fighter ages his legs slow down first. I don’t think he aged over night. More like this was just his worst night in years. The only time I felt he looked like the destroyer who smashed Pulev out of there was in the 12th round, which he won big. This tells me he has it if he needs it.

 

That's because height takes away reach for head shots.

He's held world titles for 9 straight years. He's 39 years old.
Wilder has that WBC belt so I guess that's a motive to fight him. Fury is a nobody.

 

Whats the difference between Wilder's win over Stiverne and Furys over Chisora ?

Wilder beat a back foot only fighter coming forward.
Fury shut out and stopped a front foot fighter on the front foot.

Yeah, but historically, if Wlad was to retire now, people in future could look back objectively and say, Fury wasn't exactly a pressing challenger based on what he's actually done.
Even if Fury goes on to do something.
But then some people swear Marciano retired to avoid Patterson.

 

Wilder-Stiverne was for the WBC belt.
I think Wilder's perhaps worse fighter than Fury even, but he has the belt, so that might be a good reason to fight him.
