In Fury's partial defence, he built his record against people who probably should have been ranked, but had ended up on the wrong end of a bad decision.

Admittedly most of his work had been at light heavyweight at this point.

There was nothing wrong with Braddock as a title challenger; he had just lost a lot in the previous years.

I think Hayes done. If he fights a fellow countryman it'll likely be Anthony Joshua.

 

Exactly right. Even Fury himself could not promise that he could keep in shape. That was a remarkably light weight for Tyson to come in at and about 9O% why I bet on him. 10lb heavier he's a different fighter, twice as sloppy.

 

Is it just me that doesn't think this fight hurts his legacy whatsoever?

 

Who wlad's? Nah it shouldn't hurt his legacy.. He reigned for a very long time.. He was pushing 40 and with nearly 70 fights of mileage behind him. No other great would be criticized for losing under those circumstances by any knowledgeable observer

 

Absolutely. Wlad dominated for a fair chunk of history whatever anybody says about him nobody was better during that period. It cannot be overlooked. He may have appeared to have had a lot of things going his way but then he was disciplined enough to make it look that way. The way the division evolved required a champ like him to dominate. He did it well.

 

He will most likely still make my top 10 once he's gone.

 

Wlad’s legacy is secure.

 

He's top three among the career 230 plus superheavyweight guys for sure. It really is a seperate, less entertaining, weight class now. I cannot regard them among the traditionaly trained classic sized heavyweights because it's the age they live in more than anything else that made them so big. They simply would not be so heavy under earlier periods.

 

Vlad still has a strong legacy but should go in for the rematch and get out win lose or draw and let the rest fight it out and he may gain ground. Last nights fight was just a case of not letting go and not feeling the timing. He could have a fight before Fury and try the rematch but at 40 what is the sense of staying on. Bring in Freddie Roach or Don Turner for a boast and 2 more fights at the most with Fury being the last

Did you have any problem with the blatant butt by Wlad and Tony Weekes reprising his performance in the Wlad Pulev fight ,allowing Wlad to hold around the head all night?

 

Wlad has fouled throughout his career, he holds like a limpet and **** referee's like Weekes allow him to do so as he did in the Pulev fight, seizing Pulev in head locks at every opportunity.Wlad was hit in the back of the head because he continually turned away from the action, even turning his back on his opponent several times. I'm glad he is beaten, he has stunk out too many arenas for me to have any regrets about him losing. If he wants a rematch let's have it in the UK and have a ref who wont allow his cynical holding and grabbing all night .Fury stops him next time around.
