I just watched Matt Franklin vs Marvin Johnson I...What a war! I don't know a huge amount about the era post Bob Foster but I have heard there were some classic battles between Saad Muhammad, Johnson, Galindez, Mustafa Muhammad etc. Can anyone recommend the top 5 fights from that classic era for me to watch?
Matthew Saad Muhammad Vs Ritchie Kates John Conteh Vs Matthew Saad Muhammad I Marvin Johnson Vs Matthew Saad Muhammad II Matthew Saad Muhammad Vs Yaqui Lopez II Victor Galindez Vs Ritchie Kates/Mike Rossman fights Conteh was the most talented of the years between Foster and Spinks IMO. Watch him at his best Vs Schmidtke for the European title. Saad the greatest and most fun to watch. Qawi came after the majority of the great era, but also a superb fighter, so rounded, skilled, natural fighter, everything. Worth checking out some of his work at the weight as well.
