Was def a swing round Golovkin landed more but Canelo landed the best shot of the round with that overhand right so depends on what you value I can rewatch it might have mixed up my scorecards since I watched this fight multiple times and always score it different
I had it closer but sure I know a lot of people had it 9-3 Uysk. Punchstats had Uysk winning all but 2 rounds with one being dead even.
Golovkins power jab is a power punch, so its not who lands the most power punches wins if you don't count power jabs. Canelo was getting hit with hellacious jabs. He looked like he was going to get whiplash.
GGG got jobbed agian .. was circling and consistantly landing big uppercuts, best shots of the fight imo
I remember in round 8 Canelo was going for the kill, he had a little momentum. The first half of the round Canelo thought he had him, then GGG gave him that look and waved his hand and said come on! At that point the wind from under Canelo's sails kind flattened out, then GGG turned up the heat and started nailing Canelo. At the end of the round Canelo was bleeding and tired. Golovkin more or less took over from that point. When GGG waved him in Canelo had a look like, damn not this again, I thought he was going.
A swing round should be an even round right? I would score a close round 10/9 a clear winning round 10-8. Then use the points as needed knockdown, fouls etc.
yes that's a fair point. My tendency has been to avoid scoring even rounds but i might start leaning towards scoring some rounds even. Usually i am inclined to score a swing round in favour of the guy whom i think landed the slightly harder punches. But perhaps scoring them even will be better.
A big thank you to everyone for participating. I had loads of fun rewatching and scoring the fight and having this discussion with everyone. We will get to our next edition in a couple of weeks.
