that fight of whitaker v.s hurtados (where sweetpea was landing about 8 right hands in the ropes) was a kill.

There are exellent Youtube compilations of Duran, Hagler and Hearns. Explain who these fighters were and what they were capable of. Then show him.
I've never seen you mention this one sal, so will be sure to seek it out. This thread seems to pop up every few months or so. Shame we lost all the archived posts as there were some great suggestions. I was doing a search on Kennedy McKinney v Welcome Ncita I the other day and a cached thread on Google was still there with you raving about it so I've put it on my to get list. :good

I haven't made a list for pre-90s, but here are some of the fights from before 1990 that I recommend. Evander Holyfield-Michael Dokes Matthew Saad Muhammad-Yaqui Lopez 2 Matthew Saad Muhammad-Richie Kates Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier 1 and 3 Bobby Chacon-Bazooka Limon 4 Bobby Chacon-Cornelius Boza-Edwards 2 Aaron Pryor-Alexis Arguello 1 Larry Holmes-Ken Norton
Hmmm, any fight with Bobby Chacon was good. Recently I've become a big fan of his, I just paid for an 8x10 photo of him and Ruben Olivares signed by both of them. Big fan and his attitude was inspiring, his fight with Limon where he knocks him down with like 15 seconds to go, to secure himself the win was the best.
These ones immediately spring to mind: Hagler - Hearns Ali - Frazier I Marciano - Walcott I Holmes - Norton Frazier - Ellis Dempsey - Firpo Louis - Schmeling II Holyfield - Tyson I Whitaker - Chavez (outrageous verdict, though) Liston - Williams Lewis - Rahamn II Leonard - Benitez Eubank - Benn I and many, many more.
