Chicago Woman Suing Ali

An 18-year-old Chicago woman who says she was Muhammad Ali's mistress at age 12 and bore his child at age 14 has filed a lawsuit demanding $3-million from the former heavyweight boxing champion. The woman, identified as Rebecca Jean Holloway, says in the civil suit that Ali was the father of a son she gave birth to in 1977 and that Ali stopped seeing her after the boy, who she named Osmon, was born. "She's beautiful, oh yes, she is," said the woman's attorney, Theodore H. Zimmerman of Chicago. But he declined to give many details of the case, saying that "at this time I would rather not give any interviews or even see any publicity on the matter. The fact that we filed this lawsuit doesn't mean we don't have a great deal of respect for Muhammad Ali," Zimmerman said. "It's a situation where I'm basically preserving the rights of my client. I would hate to see something come out publicly that would blacken his (Ali's) name."

Got to love the naivety in regards to larger then life figures that some people indulge in.

You make a comment about Rocky Marciano, American Hero, infallible and heroic, and you're going to be lynched.

It's completely and totally irrelevant that Marciano's the reason I got into boxing in the first place. Hero worship is overdone and in most cases, unrealistic and about as far away from reality as you can get.

Then it comes out on these boards that he carried around suitcases of dildos and sex toys like a ****ing weirdo and it becomes a joke thrown around here and there on the board. Shock turns to denial turns to begrudging acceptance, all the while playing off the initial "NOT TRUE" knee-jerk reactions.

Also, again, on these boards, there were very legitimate claims that Ali used steroids. Unfathomable, of course!

But of ****ing COURSE this is glossed over while at the very same time certain posters on these forums say Evander Holyfield and other steroid "cheats" should be erased from the record books, asterisks galore. The sport is being "ruined" by it.

You think Ali ****ing everything with two legs and a vagina, running through a half dozen wives in the process while sleeping with teenagers is okay, fine. You think him hitting his wife over absolutely nothing (Which he's admitted) is okay, great. If his very likely weight loss assisted steroid use is acceptable while every current boxer to so much look at them is ridiculed, great. If you find him nearly calling Joe Frazier a ****** with his gorilla bull****, fantastic.

Where do YOU want to draw the line at what isn't okay?

I respect that Holmes lives a good family life and has his finances sorted out really well, but he's always been a classless ***** when it came to public speaking. There are people saying that the jockstrap comment was just one isolated mistake blown out of proportion, but they couldn't be further away from the truth. He's always been respectless towards other fighters like Louis, Ali, Lennox, Tyson, Foreman etc. Even now that he's well in his 50's he remains bitter; sounding like the kid who was always picked last when making soccer teams at school.

 

Really don't know what you're going on about. Most of what you say is generallly accepted on this board, and not really news to anyone.

Him taking steroids and ****ing minors is closer to speculation, though, which people here just points out. If you think it's as likely that the Ali who met Holmes was roided up as that the Holyfield of the late 90's was... Well, then I really don't know what to say to you.

Every tale of these 'bad men' seems to involve someone banging a lot of chicks- "Dempsey broke virgins in et al".
