He annexed the WBO and was ranked as high as top 3 at 200lbs. That makes him world level albeit fringe contender with alot of Frank Warren fortune in tow.

but your right it has to do with sparring, he is mixing in with good amatuers and prospects but thats not who he wants, he needs good strong vets who will push him but not able to beat him up.

calzaghe i think has done a good job with him he has some quick hands and has a solid guard but no real tech boxing skills. if the newbridge clan become more open to other gyms and invite good levelers then it would work they seem to be doing everything together. just isnt the way...it has never been like that.

the kronk gym had a few gyms in the area which it rivaled. same with all the philly gym wars.

I think Enzo Maccarinelli is an overprotected flat track bully. He has fought a lot of guys way below him and overmatched. Even then he always struggles when he is popped on the chin. I cannot believe the hype he has generated that some actually thought he had a chance against Haye. Yes he had improved by the Haye contest but the outcome really said everything. Haye would beat him every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The reason he lost is because he is a paper tiger. Once he is in with someone who knows ho to fight like the unheralded Afolabi you saw what happened. Afolabi took him into deep waters and put his lights out. This clearly shows the benefits of sparring with the likes of James Toney against whoever Enzo Calzaghe has him sparring with. Lifting crates of bear does not mean Jack as the crates don't throw punches. As for Ola Afolabi we are very proud of his performance in Africa and Nigeria and being a British citizen as well I hope the Brits are proud of this real fighter.
