    I'm more concerned about the more serious sounding Froch Vs Roy, which isn't justifiable in any way whatsoever and possibly, stylistically, one of the most one-sided matchups ever conjured up by a respectable poster.

    Jones wouldn't lose one round against Froch in a hundred contests!

    Same here, Stan would get worn out over the longer distance, might win a 4 or 6 rounder though.

    :good That's good enough Flea, Thread's just seeing what people can think of and justify. I know many sit there and think of fights and think he can win that fight! but worry of backlash from other posters. Fair play to Tomj for his post. Don't agree though :lol:. :good

    Say over 12 round distance I think that Ketchel has a decent chance potentially has the power to gain jeffires respect and the boxing ability to eek out a deicsion. The more rounds you add the less chance he has but Ketchel has legit power to hang with the bigger men.

    Hmmm.. I think Roy would have a lot of problems with Carl but maybe its my undying (no homo) love for Froch.. How about Froch vs Barkley? Marciano vs Steve Cunningham at Cruiser..

    Not so much a shock IMHO, But a fight that rarely if ever gets mentioned for obvious reasons but i believe Hopkins would outpoint Marciano.

    Fight is at HW, Hopkins giving away weight (10lbs/maybe a stone) but boxing his way to a points decision.

    I don't think Ramirez really dissuaded Arguello either, I was just clutching at straws big time, but was the most 'out of the box' I could think of.

    As for Jones, Conteh is the only British fighter with more than no chance against prime Roy.

    Yeah i get you mate, Yeah i can't for life of me seeing people hang with Prime Roy. Carl struggled with the Rebore version from Nine Elms market in Dirrell! let alone the real thing.

    I think if Akinwande had bigger balls about him he had the tools to shock Lewis.
    But he didn't so thats void. Worth mentioning. Struggling.

    Can't see it myself. He tracked down better movers (Walcott) better boxer-punchers (Charles) and weaved through a far more complete feinting master boxer in Moore.

    Unlike any of those guys, Hopkins doesn't have the pop to keep The Rock off. He's also in with a man very strong on the inside who won't allow B-Hop to clinch and spoil him, and won't allow Hopkins to fight at his pace.

    He's also a stamina monster with a heavy workrate and would spark Hopkins late IMO. But, I see what you mean.

    :lol::lol: True, no finesse all fury once said about the Rock, Just think B-Hops footwork and defensive side of game could pull him through.

    Once again it's speculating, not the most calculated prediction i've ever made.

    How about Henry Wharton shocking Tommy Hearns at super-middle?

    Henry's toughness allowing him to stay in the fight with Tommy, and then catching an overconfident Hearns with his left hook.

    Hearns did struggle with brawlers more than anything else.
