Not a major fight or anything, but a fun one to gauge how good we actually are at predicting match-ups. (since a lot of us here like to argue about ones we can never be WRONG on. ) I see Haye getting the job done within 6 rounds. KO3, KO5, something like that. I would not be at all surprised if this went 1 or 2 rounds either.
I wouldn't count on a knockout of a solid-chinned spoiler by a guy who's coming off a hand injury but I can hope for it. ...To clear Ruiz out of the way.
Haye KO 4. Ruiz isn't going to be able to deal with the speed, he's better against plodders or has beens that can't quite pull the trigger. Could be an interesting fight though if Ruiz still has it.
I expect a convincing win for Haye but he shouldn't take Ruiz lightly. Ruiz's wake is littered with the corpses of people who underestimated him.
I've a gut feeling that Ruiz may pull it off late on, hope not obviously, just the nervous pessimist in me & dreading the yank verballs that will pour down upon us poor brits like so much yank loose bowel'd excreta:scaredas:
Haye by safety first close decision. If Haye does go for it, I see Ruiz exposing that soft chin and poor stamina of Haye's by the middle rounds.
Haye will more than likely win, and if Ruiz isn't completely shot, then a dreadfully boring decision for Haye could be the result. If Ruiz comes in really inspired, and knowing all the dirty tricks and wiliness that he has, it could even be an upset, or maybe a controversial draw, or disputed decision for Haye. Maybe even a dq going against Ruiz. All these things considered, I'll say a decision for Haye..and his showing will have Wlad Klitschko smacking his lips in anticipation of meeting Mr. Haye and crucifying him, which I believe would happen. Haye could make a terrible error in judgement either way by underestimating Ruiz.
Ruiz KO of Haye would erase all of his sins from the whole previous career and he would become a hero on ESB forever I think. I hope he pulls it off,
I think Haye will blast Ruiz out in the first couple rounds. The only thing that I'm looking forward to is a highlight of a knock out. Haye has the speed and power to finish Ruiz.
good analysis but like janitor, i worry that haye and those around him are making the mistake of underestimating him. best heavy of the last 10 years? not even close. but certainly one of the better resumes. he's the uncanny ability to beat better fighters based on his style and tanacity. does haye have the ability to execute a disciplined gameplan? does he have the physical strength to deal with ruiz's inevitable clutching? how will he react with and if his initial blitz and attacks don't work? will haye foul with ruiz's tactics do the trick? i think ruiz has the awkward effectiveness to make haye look bad on the way to an unconvincing decision. then again, he may run him over
A stoppage by Haye is not out of the question, but as for predicting an outcome, I would go with Haye by decision. I agree with some of the others that Haye should not take even an older Ruiz lightly. Ruiz has shown many times that he can be a real pain in the ass.
I thought it would be a late stoppage and I figured Ruiz would get dominated. That's the way it went down. I thought it would be boring as ****, but it was actually an OK fight.
Ruiz just is not a good fighter,as he's a holding spoiler.Plus he is what,3-3 in his last 6,with 0 impressive victories?Due to his many question marks,if Haye isn't very impressive in this one, many of his doubters will have their beliefs confirmed.
Wasn't a bad fight, at least it was exciting unlike most HW fights nowadays. Ruiz is so tough though, i dunno how he took so many shots and kept coming.
