Maybe ,just maybe, you should see the fight before commenting on it? Haye showed some flaws, lack of head movement ,as I mentioned, but, I defy anyone to tell me that fight last night, was not more entertaining than Wlad's bore snores against "just glad to be here nobodies". Ruiz came in at 231lbs,8 lbs lighter than he was for Valuev 2 years ago,it was his last chance at the big prize and he trained, and fought accordingly, to comment on a fight you haven't even seen is. 1 Foolish in the extreme ,2 Arrogant beyond belief.3 Sacrificing any remaining credibilty you might have possessed.
Im a Brit and i wasnt impressed at all with Haye last night .. He was exciting and took some chances but this 'gun slinger' mentality of his is going to get him beaten .. There was no control in his performance, there was no jab and no set-up, thats ok against a predictable and slow Ruiz but he cant do that against the Klits .. The way he hangs that left hand worries me, hes so open and amatuer looking sometimes that its untrue .... He is really the only challenger to the Klits, Povetkin has nothing as far as im concerned, he wont trouble the Klits at all .. If i was Haye i would target Vitali before Wlad, Vitali is more upright from his jab than Wlad, Wlad has a better defensive lean back from the jab which makes it very difficult to get anywere near the chin ....
Thanks for some honesty. Ruiz was past his best. In his prime Ruiz had to bend the rules with fights on Don King's re-cycled contenders to produce forgettable results. While Toney was on something, and Roy Jones might have been on something, the fact remains Ruiz was beaten by two former middle weights. I'm glad Haye stopped Ruiz with punches, but let's not act like this was a prime Ruiz, or even Ruiz from 3 years ago. As a Klitschko fan, I'm not hyping Haye at all. I am however interested to see if the fight happens. Will Klitschko will get some credit from the naysayers that are Haye fans if he wins? One can't have it both ways. If you believe Haye was all that ( I know you don't ), then whomever beats him deserves some credit.
The man who I won't name right now will Koki the living Kameda out of your avi in a rematch. With that said how in the Kameda could you get your prediction so Koking wrong?
Povetkin is much, much better and has much better wins on his resume and is my #3 If Chambers can recover from the beatdown Wlad gave him, he is #4. Chagaev has looked shopworn as of late but he was an excellent heavy and I believe still retains enough ability to warrant #5. A very charitable #6 could go to Haye. And frankly, I didn't think Haye beat Valuev, especially coming in as the challenger. He ran all night and finally wobbled him in the 12th. I thought Valuev's jab took that monstrosity. And furthermore, I give Arreola, Tua or Peters excellent chances to blast out Haye.
We don't know if Chagaev is a spent force or not. No one has looked good vs. Wlad recently. Wlad really pounds on shorter fighters with short arms, and that was Chagaev's problem.
I did too... but I want denote that as being better than Peters vs Wlad. At least not in terms of action.
He has demonstrated far better abilities against more and better heavyweights. The "let's see" argument is speculative at best and ungrounded. Another "if" contention? Chag has a better record against more and better heavies and performed far better against the common opponent, Valuev. Valuev was landing that poleax jab all fight long. Haye ran like a school girl on taffy and finally connected in the last round. I had it fairly lopsided for Valuev. It was a miserable affair, no doubt, but clearly the champion did enough to retain the belt. I would bet the mortgage on Tua to take out Haye. Haye has little to no control of space. His footwork sucks, frankly. Tua would trap him, much like the mummified Ruiz was able to, but Tua would connect and that's the night.
Haye better become more economical with his punches and no back straight up against the ropes, or his reign as a champion will not last too long. He fights a little amateurish.
