You didn’t watch the fight. Said so yourself. Hrgovic is basically Golota with a strong mental constitution.

Grant also lacked fundamental skills because he had no meaningful am career.

The report went well. It’s been swirling around in your head for quite some time and I never filed any report.

You’re right. Zhang, Joyce and Hrgović are ATG’s. This is the next coming of the golden triumvirate like Ali, Frazier and Foreman

My impression of Zhang, is that he is something special, but for a couple of gaps in his game.

Very good power, and uncanny reflexes, but likely to be held back by stamina issues.

Also probably has a narrow window to make a mark, owing to his age.

    Great vid Rum.

Of course I don’t “like” vids/posts just because I mainly agree with them, I can appreciate them very much even if I don’t see it the same way.

BUT, as it so happens, I do agree with everything you said here - perhaps my concurrence is sufficient cause for you to change your position - Lol.

Seriously though, you framed your astute comments via every objective perspective available.

Sometimes, for all our accent on acute analysis, the fact that we watch boxing for the pure enjoyment gets lost in translation.

This was a fun and entertaining fight - and an actual fight between two capable HWs - not a fight that has remained on the drawing board for ever and a day. All possible credit to both men - they carry themselves extremely well.

I head Zhang say the other day that he BANGS everything. Perhaps too much info there - Lol.

My overall thoughts is that Joyce was vastly overrated, and I've been saying this ever since forum went mad after his win over Parker.

But at the sametime we underestimated Zhang and hes better than what we all thought.

I'd like to see Zhang vs other top Heavyweights before I make final decision on him, but hes a big skilled guy who's also a Southpaw with a big punch. So hes dangerous for most Heavyweights I'd say pity about his age though.

I agree with your take on Joyce. However, his performance last weekend was so poor that I wouldn't say Zhang had been underestimated.

For mine, Zhang showed us who he was against Hrgovic and I consider that bout a better gauge than this most recent outing. I don't think the Joyce bout serves as any kind of realistic benchmark.

If he's lucky, Zhang will get a payday - and he might even surprise.

Classic perspective : There is nothing classic about this fight except for the age of the combatants.

Their age reminds me of Marciano's era.

Yeah with the only difference being that 37 year old men back then were established all time greats and not umpteen fight prospects ;)

Also: 180 pound men with wear and tear who would be dominated by Joyce, Usyk and Zhang.

The fact they’d NEED them to be so much smaller to win doesn’t say much about their talent as big men..
