A 37-year-old Lewis beating a presumably-better version of Vitali himself pretty well has to be a better performance.

Mendoza, you hit it on the head with this one! Peter quit at the beginning of the round you picked, good call.

I haven't seen the fight yet as it's running on a much delayed telecast here where I live. From what I've read though, it seems like it went exactly how I envisioned. Vitali is not completely back to form, but like I said, it doesn't take Vitali at 100% to defeat someone like Samuel Peter.

Congratulations to Mendoza and Power Puncher for making similar predictions. I wish Klitschko good health and I hope he goes on to fight again. I would hate to see the WBC belt vacated.

As a sidenote, I would just like to say that I was a mile off regarding the light heavyweight showdown between Chad Dawson and Antonio Tarver. I predicted a unanimous decision win for the Magic Man based on a busier workrate, which was partly true of the action of the fight, however, I did not expect Dawson to land the more meaningful punches almost all the way through. I only witnessed portions of the fight, but I was completely taken aback when Dawson scored the knockdown in the 12th. He even had Tarver rolling on the floor!

Again, a pleasant surprise. Congratulations to 'Bad' Chad Dawson, the new IBF champ!

Lewis was being out fought by Vitlai, down 4-2 on all cards. You can say Vitali was Lewis best pure win ( Holy and TYson were past it ) but there is NO way Lewis would have looked as sharp as Vitali did after a 4 year layoff.

Vitali looked very sharp last night. He threw the jab, hook, uppercut, busted Peter between the guard, comboed, and coutered without a hint of failing stamina.

Lewis was gased and tried vs Vitali. I really don't think the Vitali fight was one of lewis top 3-4 best perfomances.

Classic Klitchko revisionism, Lennox stopped Vitali, tore his face up and had him holding on. Lennox was coming on strong throwing the bigger punches which really did damage.

You don't think Lewis would win every round against Peter or stop him earlier? I do, Peter was a punching bag for any A Level heavyweight, Lewis would have had zero probs with Peter. Vitali is a much tougher opponent than Peter

    Do I need to ask how a 37yo Vitali does against a 32yo VitalI? Because a 37yo Lennox beat a 32yo Vitali, a 37yo Vitali obviously can't do that

Hold on there. Let's examine what I said.

Mendoza: The fight was boring until Walcott landed a hook on a not so tough chinned Charles.

Mendoza : Walcott lost this fight and was KO'd.

Mendoza Did you see this fight. Yes, Holmes won it, but he was not nearly as impressive as Vitlai was vs Peter.

Mendoza : Nope, and I'm a Holmes fan. Again, Vitlai was more impressive vs Peter than Holmes was vs Spinks. He won every round with ease. I do think Holmes was robbed, and a close but clear decision for Holmes was in order.

Mendoza: Um, Norton was 35 fight this fight.

Mendoza: Again, Ali was 34 for this fight, and lucky to win it. You examples are lacking big time.

Mendoza: One good one. Kudos. However, let's not confuse dramatic with a better performance from start to finish, Moorer was well in the lead until Foreman caught Moorer who should have been moving late.

Mendoza : Lewis was down 4-2 on all three cards, which means he needs to win 4 of the next 6 rounds on at least two judges cards to produce a draw. IMO Lewis was getting tired when the fight was stopped on a cut.

Lewis-Rahman 2 >> Lewis was under 37. Again, read the criteria.

Mendoza:Tyson was SHOT. I think Peter will rebound better than this version of Mike Tyson did.

Mendoza: Louis looked ok vs a blown up light heavy, coming off a loss. Again, Vitlai's performance was more impressive.

Mendoza: Please! Savold was done for. This was his 2nd to last fight.

Mendoza : WRONG. Johnson did not win the first 25 rounds. If you watched most of the fight, you would know Willard took over around round 15-finish. Also Johnson was knocked out.

    Mendoza: LOL, How so?

Mendoza: How many fights did Godfrey have when Sam capped him. Not too many. So why is this more impressive?

The thing is all those opponents were better than Sam Peter, whether they were prime or not they were still better than the fat boy with the GH gut.
