I think this will be a decent match, with a clean result. Wlad has improved since the 1st Peter fight. Peter is in good shape at 241 pounds, and thinks he can do better this time around.

I think Wlad's skills make the difference, and he scores a TKO.

Peter looked quite good against Naquila in his last outing. Slipped past the jab to land a nice counter right hand. He's a good shape.

I think this comes down to how well he holds up mentally. If he bull rushes Wlad as he did in the first fight, then he'll be a threat. If he takes his time or is slow on his feet, like he was against Vitali, then he'll get stopped in similar fashion to Chagaev.

Wlad has no doubt improved, ...a lot. Peter seemed to improve and then regress to me. Curious guy. Peter's in good shape, has great taste in women's underwear as well. I find it hard to imagine it going the distance. It should be just another day at the office for Wlad. Sadly. I hope to see Peter give a better account of himself than Wlad's usual outmatched guys. But Peter's only stronger than those outmatched guys. He's stronger yet far less skilled. Chambers is immensely more skilled, as is Chagaev and Ibragimov-all dominated. I don't see how Peter can win by anything other than fluke, or Wlad going off his usually script and going in for the kill early, maybe getting sloppy...a fluke stamina breakdown maybe...a fan man landing on Wlad...something.

I think as a fight, it's nothing like big or important enough to have a thread in Classic.

Certainly it's not as anticipated in the UK as Molitor-Booth, also happening tonight. Perhaps we should have a thread on Classic about that fight, too?

Peter gets to taste the Klitschko jab once again until calling it quits in rounds 8-10. The last time Wladimir weighed that much he blew out both of his opponents in 2 rounds. I can't see him suddenly changing up from the cautious form he has shown recently though, despite all the talking he has done. It's going to last more rounds than it should, and we will all be glad when it's over with.

I wish he would but I don't think I even would if I were him.

I don't see any sense in being tentative against Eddie Chambers and then going for the early KO against a slugger like Peter, who rocked him several times in their previous bout. But that's what he has claimed, and when a man talks the talk, especially one who rarely makes predictions before a fight like Wladimir, he better back it up.

He has created a situation where he will look bad if he doesn't finish the job inside 6 rounds.

The best Peter ever fought / boxed was in his 2007 rematch with James Toney, who also was suppose to be working hard with Billy Blanks at the time, only to come in at 234soft pounds of lard and look lethargic for 12 rds....

After that, Peter was back to his old ways against Jameel DeCline in the fall of 2007...

Peter looked alright against "Glass-Jaw" Maskaev in March of '08, but once again he was a lard of the ring and decided to be V.K.'s 253 pound human punching bag to blow his paper WBC title in Oct. 2008....

I don't see Peter being any better here at 241 pounds against "Bad-Ass" Wlad..... Peter's skills are still in question.....

This is just a thought, but we can think about this question for at least a little while yet.

How does it effect legacies if Wlad is beaten? Some have Wlad moving into the top 10 now. Surely a loss of any discription drops him well outside the top 10 and probably outside the top 30, 50 or even further for some. For Peter, it would be a huge scalp and might just place him on some all time lists if he follows up. And what about Vitali. A win for Peter pretty much solidifies Vitali as the no 1 fighter of the post Lennox era.

I disagree with the previous sentiment. There is a lot riding on a few all time legacies in this fight. In fact, the World heavyweight championship fight should always be worthy of a thread in classic. Incidentally, while i dont think it will happen, stranger things have happened than a Peter KO. He does have the potential to pull a Sanders or Brewster (he nearly did the first time). I think we might nearly be due a surprise though Wlad is the better fighter.

It would be the end for Wladimir if he were to lose this fight. Obviously huge win for Peter, but he's proven to be mediocre at this point. It's not going to happen though, which is why no one even thinks about it. Wladimir is a 12-to-1 favorite or so for good reasons. He's not losing here because he can't afford to.

While I am of the opinion that Wlad is the linear champion now and this fight is historically important just from having "the" title on the line, it is not everyone's opinion. Some just see it as the top rated heavyweight in a rematch he has pretty much been backed into in a twist of circumstances, that not many even wanted to see.

Who gives a **** if Sam Peter looked great against Naquila... Who's Naquila anyway??? I will say its odd that Peter felt the need to get down to 237 so he could park that sum *****, but Peter could've KO'd that dude at 260 pounds... Peter and his team have strange ways and priorities....

Peter can upset ( Its a 6-1 long shot in my book ), but Wlad's defense and clinching is much better now, plus his confidence appears to be excellent.

I have often said Vitali performed much better vs common opponents between the two.

Wlad TKO 7th...Klitschko reintroduces Peter to the jab and grinds him down.
