JuanMa will win titles at 126, 130 and 135 to go with his 122 belt and become an ATG. Gamboa will win real titles at both 126 & 130 and be a top 10 P4P'er. Matt Korobov will win multiple world title belts and be a top 10 P4P fighter.
He had his shining moment against Khan, other than that I haven't been impressed by him at all and don't think he will go onto become much. You never know with his power though.:good
were you not impressed in his last performance with Humberto Toleda (i think) i thought he had great composure, skills with decent speed still undecided on his power though is it as good as people say. The only thing that i can see is an obvious weakness is his defence but he generally uses his height and reach to not have to rely on defence
Didn’t this guy fight just last week? Is he still considered a prospect all these years later? Talk about a slow burner. Lol
Reading through, not the car crash I thought it would be. It is as if some in here know their boxing!
I haven't followed boxing much since before this thread was started. Don't know who any of them are, except I remember Meehan.
Some reasonable mentions. Easy to look wise after the fact (e.g. JuanMa) but it's an interesting reflection of what people not just on this forum but also in boxing magazines were predicting at the time.
I didn't participate in this thread 10 years ago. Don't know who I would have considered the hot prospects at the time. But if I was to participate now, I would be curious as to how Felix Verdejo, Diego DeLaHoya and Gabriel Flores Jr. will have progressed in 10 years time.
Short term, it will be interesting to see how Joe Joyce does in the next couple of years. Long term, 21 year old Daniel Dubois seems very promising.
I would’ve said Qaid Muhammad around this time but he never amounted to anything and he’s now dead, so wouldn’t have been the best pick
