Who is the oldest champion/contender level fighter still fighting? I was scrolling through Boxrec recently and saw that Bash Ali is scheduled to fight later this year. He is 53! I guess Saoul Mamby fought over a year ago in his 60's. Anyone else?
Saoul Mamby is still active! :scaredas: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=235&cat=boxer It's hard to believe that a boxer who fought his first fight in 1969 is still active. He's even older than George Foreman!
Hell, I'm sure if it weren't for the car accident that almost killed him, Duran would be fighting at a Casino near you. Regarding Mamby, I heard that California State retired him earlier and that he himself retired after his fight in 08.
hearns was going to have a fight undercard to his son...or overcarded.....dusnamatta anyways tommy i think was looking for a 174 or 190 journeymatch.
Wow, I didn't know Mamby was active until last year ! That guy was a veteran back in the 1980s ! Holyfield will fight again. Perhaps against Francois Botha. Probably against Haye sometime ! Bashiru Ali is probably the oldest, and the guy he is scheduled to fight is that guy Bobby Gunn who has somehow fought for both the WBO (2007) and the IBF (2009) "world" cruiser titles recently.
Ray mercer was born in 1961. i think he is still active. depending on the definition of active. but a hearns comeback will leave him behind.
