This is what annoys me about modern sportsmen. They seem to think they become an authority on everything & we, the little people, should listen to them & hold their opinions in high regard. Khan made a misinformed, ill adivsed statement that appeared to only pander to his own ethnic group.

So what if it is 16 fights. They have been against blown up fighters, the type he should be winning by KO. It is when he goes against the big boys that he may not get the KO.

**** his heart as that was not in question, what was in question was his chin and the question was answered by Limmond.

Should keep his mouth shut if he is not a UN worker. No one asked him to come out with a pathetic irresponsible statement.

Nope no other pro's made an after fight statement as they do not court publicity etc as much as Khan.

Look the guy was an 18 yr old at the time. It was his first pro interview right after a fight, he was nervous and didnt know what to say. He was probably asked by his team or maybe felt he should express sympathey its not about publicity, he gets plenty of that.

Anyways why is it a probelm if has a Pakistani flag on his shorts, he wants to represent that side of heritage as well. American born Mexican fighters often have mexican flags on their shorts and come out to Mexican music wearing Mexican hat representing only Mexican heritage. Yet no one has a problem with it maybe because a double standard holds for a Muslim man.

Agreed, the statement was stupid and offensive to the victims and their families. He is not the best with his words as he tries to use words that he does not understand etc. So why not keep his mouth shut. It was just stupid of him and pandering to those involved.

a reporter probably asked him on his thoughts regarding the London Bombings or something like that.

well he proved that he just doest only fight 1 way and that is to stop his opponent in 3 or 4 rounds as he showes against St Clair that use his superior boxing skills and win a fight against a someone like st clair who probably wot be stopped till he retires

How articulate do expect an 18 yr old. Khan had turned 18 at the time my friend. His interviews now sound much better.

How the **** was that expressing sympathy no expression of condolances to the families just a offensive statement about forgetting the incident. Should have got Asif to script him a statement if he wanted to make a statement.

Well keep it on his shorts. Says it all when you ditch it because you on the verge of signing a new contract and do not want to jepordise the big moola.

Ah here we go the muslim men line. There are other ****ing minorities in Pakistan besides Muslims. I would make the same statement if a Pakistani Hindu or Sikh did the same thing by ditching the Pak flag to avoid rocking the applecart.

I do not like Bhop but like Tyson he does know what words mean and uses them carefully.

Khan does not understand half the words he tries to use. Maybe they could use an autoqueue for him to read his after fight statements off.

You are. He's not saying he shouldn't embrace his heritage, far from it infact. He was alluding to the notion Khan appears to embrace it when it suits him.
