Nobody listens to your shite... every time you have posted anything regarding Muhammad Ali it has nothing but hate written all over it, I don`t know what your problem is but your becoming all too predicable.

Whether Liston hurt his shoulder or not is irrelevant, if he didn`t hurt his shoulder then he quit because he knew he couldn`t win & used that as an excuse, not because the fight was fixed.

He certainly didn`t act like a man that was `supposed to lose` when he was trying witrh everything he had to take a blind Ali out in round 5.... that round alone should put to bed this complete nonsense.

    The end !

If Sonny Liston was such a 'valuable commodity',

Why then would his Manager, Jack Nilon just walk away from Sonny in 1964.

He couldn't sell Sonny's performance contract for a 'plug nickel', as there were
    absolutely no takers.

Sonny had way too many 'debtors', and his personal contract was worth nothing.

The only way I-C-P could make money and keep it, was to promote fights, and
on paper they limited Sonny Liston's percentage in I-C-P to show only limited ownership,
despite being the Vice President in the corporation.

It was all about the money.

If you are going to take a dive, there is an easier way to do it then, you know, actually try to win and get beat up.

A young Ali kicked Liston's teeth in when they first tangled. Won almost every round. Why Sonny quit means nothing, the better fighter that night was obvious. He is, however, on record as claiming a hurt shoulder.

In the second fight, he got hit with a right hand. Whether it put him down, whether he fell down, whether he decided to go down, call it whatever you want, but the man DID stand and try to continue to fight, before it was called by the disgraceful refereeing of Walcott.

    Those are the FACTS.

Bringing in anything else? Speculation. That's what they'd call it in the court of law.

    "Circumstantial Evidence'

You can still be convicted on that.

As for the 'fix', nobody said that Sonny and Cassius were experts in the
    'art of acting'.

This was Miami Beach, where 'wresting shows' were running 4-times a week.

And they packed the place, with believing spectators at every event.

Well BillB has presented documentation backing up the shoulder injury and has shown video evidence backing up Liston trying his hardest to coninue.

Billb thinks both are legitimate and he is right on the money :good
