Garcia and Canelo threw hard, explosive clean punches

GGG and Porter threw pawing, cuffing, clubbing and probing shots(for the most part)
GGG is a big puncher but he didn't let his power go because Canelos speed scared him away from committing to power(or the body)

    Clean punches do damage!

Oh and also Holyfield>Bowe in the rematch for the same reason

Agree that Garcia won. But GGG outboxed, beat, cut, and hurt Clenelo and was robbed. Don't interpret GGG breathing hard as Clenelo winning — GGG is 36 years old.

And missed countless times, and many of the shots people thought they landed, were blocked or parried.

Porter deserved to win and Golovkin deserved to win, because they landed the cleaner punches, its as simple as that.

For the record, Golovkin's jab is a power punch, and he landed it relentlessly. Its kind of what kept Canelo honest as well, I didn't see him going all out and running after GGG did you?

The first part of your comment completely defeats the second part.:BangHead:

When has Canelo ever done that? Run after an opponent?

GGG didn't commit to his punches in fear of getting countered. His punches were probing and pawing, yes USUALLY his jab is a power punch but not this time he didn't throw anything hard until Abel Sanchez told him he was in trouble between round 8 and 9 and then he came on strong but I just think GGG had given up too many early rounds at that point.

You think Porter's punches were cleaner than Garcia's really??? Well you must have had Porter winning 12-0 then because he outlander Garcia big-time at a much higher rate than GGG out landed Canelo.
My point is that one clean explosive snappy punch is worth more than 2 clazaghe-esque slaps and the proof is in the pudding(in this case GGGs face after the fight)

And no facial damage is not a scoring criteria but it is an indicator of the point I am trying to make

The Porter vs Garcia fight is not comparable to the Canelo vs GGG fight.

Porter outworked Garcia and he was the aggressor, the Canelo vs GGG fight was a lot closer with GGG landing more total punches on the backfoot and Canelo landing more power punches on the front foot, that fight could have gone either way.

    Porter clearly won against Garcia.

Tainted punches do more damage as clean punches. And Holyfield hasn't thrown a single "clean" punch in his entire HW career, so not a good example.

Just because it was more explosive or had speed in them doesn't mean they count as power punches landed, that's the problem with compubox. If you throw a hook and it only grazes, it counts as a power punch. But if someone like Golovkin jabs and rocks someone like Canelo's head it counts 'only' as a jab.

The truth is like %30 of Canelo's power punches landed was only a graze. Wasn't clean POWER punches, only punches. Just because you don't score with a jab doesn't mean you're power punching for real. Not taking anything from Canelo's performance.

In no way is that true. Porter smothers his own work. GGG outboxed and defeated Clenelo w/ brutal jabs, uppercuts from hell, opened a cut on his eye, and had him badly hurt in the 10th.

Didn't look to much like GGG wasn't commuting to punches when he stunned Canelo on two occasions, cut him and had him lower his output throughout the fight. In fact it says the exact opposite.

He started committing when Sanchez told him he was losing the fight between rounds 8 and 9 fights are scored round by round. He had dug himself too big of a hole. My point still stands. Golovkin was pitty patting with 80% of his punches in the first 8 rounds

Golovkin missed 645 of his total punches
Canelo missed 420 of his total punches

Canelo outlanded GGG by 27 power punches.

Golovkin was in retreat and Canelo still landed the better and cleaner shots. :eyebrow2:
