I sense a lot of polarised conflict around here, and other forums, on this topic.

It goes something like, "GGG feasted on bums his whole life etc etc".

My view is that although very, very top name middleweights have been a bit scarce, Golovkin has proved his worth by annihilating a large succession of good and very good fighters.

He was a much feared amateur, getting robbed at the Olympics in 04, beating Dirrell en-route. He beat Andy Lee and knocked Bute clean out with one shot in the World Championships in 03.

His professional record is damn good simply because he's beaten a lot of good fighters brutally and in quick succession.

Martin Murray was a good, huge and incredibly durable Middleweight who GGG poleaxed with a body shot, but will just be written off a bum in some forums.

Golovkin destroyed Macklin, Stevens, Rubio, Lemieux, beat Jacobs then Canelo in the first (if we're honest) then probably drew the second.

Given the route he's come up, from relative obscurity in Europe, where he was willing to fight merely for sponsorship money because no-one wanted anything to do with him, what more could have done?

The volume of hate is directly proportional to his quality as a fighter. Same with all the top boys of this era.

You challenge two of the most popular fighters, their rabid morons will hate you vehemently from then til eternity. It's as simple as that. Then of course they try to search for reasons to justify their hatred... as if that's applied consistently throughout other fighters.

MOST of the 3G haters are just immature little brats who like to troll and antagonize out of boredom...

    I only have 2 criticisms:

1- He chose the money over undisputed, agreeing to Oscars demands to make the canelo fight when he spent a year shouting "all the belts". Part of that was billy hoe's fault, but when billy was available he picked the money fight, twice. I cant be mad at a man for wanting to secure a big paycheck, but it was a little hypocritical. Especially when he dropped the ibf belt instead of facing his mandatory when in the past, team golovkin made a big deal out of fulfilling their mandatories.

2-in the canelo rematch he demanded a "mexican style" fight and when canelo obliged and met him ring center, he was all "jab jab jab". Roy jones was right in calling this out. It doesnt make him a bad fighter, it was a smart game plan. But it affected the judges who heard team golovkin market him as this badass slugger.

Ive always been a fan of GGG's skills and subtle yet effective strengths/abilities, and overall I think he has earned his spot in the HOF and his distinction and reputation as an elite and world-class operator, dating way back to his AM days. Combine both careers and hes clearly proven time and time again he is a very good to great fighter and highly skilled and talented. But, hes never been unbeatable and a certain type of fighter with a very specialized and specific skill-set along with a large athletic advantage over him always/would have always given him hell and objectively speaking I think you gotta say he swerved Andre Ward hard and wanted no part in Ward. And I dont blame him, I think Ward would have been a nightmare for him, but outside of Ward I dont think any other fighter from 154-168 should have been favored over him, some maybe would have been 50/50 fights but for the most part he was brilliant and should earned the right to be favored against any fighter from those classes besides Ward and maybe prime Lara.

I think the hate is backlash for G's over the tap fan boys to be honest. In my opinion, there is no way a true fan can watch Golovkin fight and not realize the skill set the man possesses. I, on several occasions rooted against G just because of his over the top fans.

The majority of hate for GGG comes from Canelo devotees who cannot stand the fact GGG is superior to Canelo in all respects
