Your argument was that Byrd wasn't a true heavy, even though he fought almost all his career in that weightclass. Are you ready to retract that claim?

Wladimir beating Byrd is a good win, not a great one. Who exactly is going on about it? Most people would agree that Wladimir has a decent record with a lot of good, solid names on it but zero truly great ones.

What annoys me the most though is the idea they are one entity.

It seems to have been promoted to protect vitali's reputation.

By pretending they are a joint entity it masks the reality that wlad is the champion and vitali is merely the best of the rest.

Within the context of his era, wlad's resume holds up to scrutiny. That being said, there's heavyweights who are ranked that he hasn't faced yet so there's still names out there and providing the fights can get made there are legitimate challenges remaining for him.

If we were to draw up a top ten of the division from the time steward started training wlad, it would look something like this:

    Wlad
    Vitali
    Byrd
    Brewster
    Peter
    Chagaev
    Ibragimov
    Povetkin
    Chambers
    Ruiz

I'm not sure who else i'd include from the last 7 years but it's a decent representation imo and he's beaten 6 of the 8 available names.

    The Vitali opponents you named:
I'm sure Wlad will eventually fight one of Vitali's recent victims. He has been calling out Arreola for a while, Solis is injured, Adamek should be able to bounce back in a few fights, and Chisora is banned but is still young enough and would now be a bigger draw so that fight might not be to far away.
Kevin Johnson has done nothing, nor Sosnowski, Briggs,Kirk Johnson, Gomez, after their loses to Vitali. Lewis also retired.

    Wlads opponents:
Haye fight will likely happen next, if they can reach agreement.Vitlai had been trying to fight him for the last 3 years but Haye choose Valuev. Eddie Chambers has been extremely inactive since his lose, but was one step away from rematch with Wlad; product of him being rated highly in a division in which Wlad holds the belt. Chagaev contemplated retirement and then lost to Povetkin. Ibragimov, Brock, Brewster retired and would have brought zero interest after their loses to Wlad. Rhaman is shot, Thomspson wants a chance at revenge vs. Wlad.

Combine all that with the different rankings and mandatory in the middle of voluntary's with all the different Orgs, etc, etc, etc......

What are your explanations of those fighter's and the results of their respective fights vs either brother, that in your mind warrants a match vs the other brother???
