As far as I know, Godfrey was powerful enough to hurt any fighter......But I dont know much about him.........You can educate me Janitor, how good was he ??
That is a verry good question. His paper record would suggest him to be nothing exceptional, but contemporary fighters and trainers raved about him. Larry Gaines (who sparred with both) said that he was better than Jack Dempsey. Dempsey himself said that Godfrey was the best heavyweight in the world after Tunney retired. I could go on.
