This is for the inaugural heavyweight championship of AIBA Pro, a rematch from last November when the Russian handed the Italian an upset MD loss (scored 58-56, 58-56, 57-57).

Russo, an Olympic silver medalist in 2008, has been a top shelf heavyweight for many years now, and generally only loses to stellar talents such as Egor Mekhontsev, Oleksandr Usyk, Andre Ward, and Rakhim Chakhkiev (whom Russo has also beaten, along with a rout of Deontay Wilder and victories over countless other names of middling to high international renown, pretty much cleaning out and dominating all but the A+ tier).

Damn I wish Russo would turn pro. Same goes for Mezhidov and Savon HW would be a much more exciting division with their presence.

The greater loss for pro boxing (that is, real pro boxing) is Cammarrelle by far.

    Russo is pretty good though.

    Cammarelle >>>> Russo >> Modugno.

...and the lousiest of the bunch is the only guy to make the jump. :!:

    Round 1

Russo is looping rights into the head of Egorov and dancing on the backfoot, skimming the ropes. Russo flicks jabs up from the hip in a light jog. Egorov pressures, leading with right hands falling in and then probing with jabs or slicing high with hooks up close as Russo dances away with pot shots.

    10-9 Russo

    Round 2

Russo is still up on his toes, showboating a bit, whipping in fast, light lead right hands on the outside. Russo is flicking up backhanded jabs and circling wide to his left in a constantly outward-spiraling arc, snapping to avoid the ropes as needed. Egorov maintains his slow and steady pressure, unable so far to get close and land his bombs. A few body jabs by Egorov after getting Russo to lift his arrogantly nonexistent guard by feinting up top.

    10-9 Russo

    20-18 Russo

    Round 3

Russo is cut by the right eye. Egorov is spraying fists all over the bowed head of Russo, landing mostly on the nape of the neck and behind the ears but landing nonetheless and forcing Russo to stay low, hit every time he comes up for air. Egorov is forcing his thick left forearm into Russo's throat, forcing his head to tilt back, and then hooking him in the face as he steps outside.

    10-9 Egorov

    29-28 Russo

    Round 4

Russo is tiring now from both his exorbitant movement in the 1st and 2nd and from Egorov's increasing connect rate with piercing jabs and swatting hooks on his abdomen. Lots of clinching from Russo, further sacrificing his own supply of wind. Egorov is putting together straight-and-uppercut volleys, switching it up to lead with either a jab or a short right and then bringing hard uppercuts into Russo's chest with the opposite glove. Russo is putting his face down, chin tucked deeply, bending forward and giving up the back of his head willingly, and tying up whenever he can as Egorov is able to close the distance any time he tries jogging away now.

    10-9 Egorov

    38-38

    Round 5

Russo is getting popped with left jabs on the outside. Egorov is giving him no respect, walking in even as Russo winds up and telegraphs an overhand right, which Egorov just traps between his wrists, pinching Russo's arm in place, frozen, and holding onto it with the crook of his own right arm while pounding Russo's ribs with the left. Russo is doing his best Sergio Martinez impersonation (except orthodox, and minus the hand speed or reflexes), in the apelike stance with the hands down and shot up in combinations from his thighs while taking short backward steps to lure Egorov in. Egorov inevitably gets the best of the exchanges pulling down on the back of Russo's neck with the right glove and dusting his crown with left jabs, before just outright clubbing Russo into a submissive fully bowed position and/or a clinch.

    10-9 Egorov

    48-47 Egorov
