Clenching: Under Rated Technique Or Cowards Way Out

    :verysad In that fight Berto's excessive clinching might have actually impeded his offensive arsenal. If he hadn't held so much he would've opened a lot more in that fight thus hurting Urango more and putting on a better show for the fans.

    There's situations when excessive clinching can actually hurt the fighter doing the holding.

    This is simple. If you think clinching is an underrated technique in boxing, go watch UFC or MMA or WWF.

    I see a difference between a clinch, and holding. Holding I see as hugging, Clinching I see a catching their arms

    When I was really young, like under 15 or so, I hated clinching. I thought that any clinch was wrong and cowardly.

    Then I grew up.

    its part of the sport....however, excessive clinching should bring a warning and a point taken away after a warning
