This content is protected Some theaters will be carrying it. The advance online purchasing option has not been set up for the theaters close to me yet, but I'm definitely going. Hands down the BEST WAY to watch a fight and is WAY CHEAPER than the PPV (plus I can sneak in liquor and snacks and get stoned in between fights).
I've always wanted to watch boxing like this. My granddad told me stories about watching Ali and SRL fights etc in cinemas in the UK but there haven't been any in my adult lifetime. What kind of crowds do you get there? I reckon if they did it in the UK it would be full of people fighting
Very respectful and quiet crowds. Most I've seen was 3/4 filled up and that was for Pac-Thurman and Mayweather-Clenelo. It's never been sold out. Everyone's there because they love boxing and want to be there. You never get larges groups of loud and obnoxious teens. You get cheering and clapping when big shots land or there's a heavy exchange, but for the most part it's quiet (awesome).
This is the best way to watch a fight. I do it every chance that I get, although it may be easier for me as I live in close proximity to a big city. Always bring in my own drinks, everyone is always friendly and willing to chat it up about boxing in between fights. The atmosphere is always welcoming and everyone there for a good time.
Always wanted to watch a fight in the theaters but never did it. I was supposed to go years ago but didn't.
Yep. And zero BS. No obnoxious people. No crying babies. Everyone's very quiet and focused for the most part.
We actually got Holyfield v Bowe at my highs school auditorium in my feakin ice cold village ages ago! only 'theater' fight i've gone to.
I saw the last GGG Canelo fight in a theatre. It was a great setting seeing these two on a giant screen. I was the only non Mexican in attendance, as far as I could tell. Mexican fight fans are more knowledgeable than the average boxing casual American fans, at least among my friends. I was surprised to see so many Mexican fans cheering in the 10th round (I think it was the tenth, bad memory) when GGG was landing some shots. Many of the crowd booed or shrugged their shoulders when the decision was read. I’ll probably watch the 3rd at the movies. Mad respect for the Mexican fight fans, at least the ones in the Chicago area. I expected them to be super-pro Canelo like many of the people around here but they were objective and knowledgeable. They didn’t go crazy every time Canelo threw a punch or landed a glancing blow. I will be way more biased during the Usyk-AJ fight and I like both guys.
I watched GGG v Canelo 1 in a theatre with majority Mexican fight fans in attendance. Pretty much the entire theatre boo'd the decision (Seattle area). Mad respect for that.
