Clenelo isn't anything special at 175 - Bivol will make him look bad at times but still loses...

I wouldn't be surprised if Bivol wins in a lackluster fight, actually. I'm interested in it but wish Canelo would go back to 160 or 168.

Canelo did look much slower against Kovalev though, that's the worry of him putting on weight to fight at 175. If he bulks up too much for 175 then he's not gonna be as quick as he was vs BJS or Plant which means it could be harder to catch Bivol. It could be a problem against Bivol because Bivol does have quick feet and fast hands. A slower 175-lb Canelo could be exposed by a faster Bivol who is more accustomed to the weight. That's what makes this so intriguing, the bigger question for me than how Bivol performs is how Canelo performs at 175. Will he look slower like he did vs Kovalev, becuase if he is, then he could get outpointed by Bivol, and unlike Kovalev, Bivol isn't as easy to catch late and KO.

 

He did wear silk pajamas when signing autographs before fighting BJS, but at the same time he also disproved the age old quote by Marvin Hagler that it's tough to get out of bed when wearing silk pajamas. Canelo does not have the motivation problems that Hagler had to get out of bed when wearing silk pajamas. A lot of fighters lose the motivation to train and work hard when they become rich. That hasn't happened to Canelo. This dude lives in the gym and has maintained his condition over a long period. It's easy for fans who don't have the drive and motivation he has to accuse him of being on PEDs, but it's only ignorance to the fact that he is living the ultimate boxing life in and out of the ring. Haters are always gonna hate, but you can't dispute the results, Canelo is the greatest boxer of this generation, and it all starts in the gym. He never forgot where he started, in poverty from the mean streets of Guadalajara. As he recently said in an interview, it's not just "showing up" to the gym, it's having the energy and motivation to work hard in the gym. His haters who accuse him of being on PEDs are only jealous that they don't have the work ethic and motivation to put in the work needed to achieve their boxing dreams.

 

The Can man likes his silk pajamas, no doubt about that. But thus far no one's been able to do anything about it. No one's ever been able to put him down and make him think twice about wearing silk pajamas anymore. Wearing silk pajamas isn't my cup of tea, but hey to each their own. If that makes him happy, more power to him. Not the way I roll though. He's also an avid golfer who wears golfing attire often. I totally get why he rubs you the wrong way Serge, I just find it funny, he marches to the beat of his own drum, he wears what he wants and says hey if you don't like how he dresses, do something about it.

Well Canelo wasn't wearing silk pajamas back then. Canelo wasn't the favorite against Floyd, he wasn't at the top of the sport like he is now and has been for some time.

If Bivol tries to spoil and box his way to a win he won't win. Whether by hook or crook he won't.
