I don’t see this happening. The UFC and MMA in general doesn’t pay like boxing. Why risk your health in a different sport for peanuts? Only a few guys get decent dough and they are all big names. Most guys make very little compared to big time boxing.

His weight in the ring has been fairly consistent, actually. He was 173, I think, for Trout and 178 for Kovalev. He'll probably be around 180 for Bivol. The main difference is that he's draining less and less as he moves up in weight.

Bivol hasn't ever tested positive, but do you really think you go through the Russian amateur program for such a long time on such a high level without using? I don't see it myself. Their Olympic teams have been doping like there's no tomorrow since the early 50's and we know it's still rampant (Sotji etc).

He’ll be on point come fight night, as always.

He’s still in camp and is an active fighter…no concern here.

Olympic teams aren’t a homogenous group, most sports have absolutely nothing to do with other sports. What Russian boxers have tested positive? What could they even take that would be helpful for a boxer? Maybe something to cut weight, maybe a stimulant. Boxing is about skills, it’s not a sport like cycling or weightlifting where the athlete who is a little bit better athletically than the others wins it all. You can be Paulie and win a world title if you have some skills and the mental toughness to go 12.

I saw on a documentary he wants to go for Olympic gold again. Maybe he can do it if he is still young enough.....

A 20-0 record with 100% KOs would be legendary. Look what Usyk has achieved in less than 20 fights as well. Legendary stuff.

I kinda want the GGG fight to fall though in September or for Canelo to fight him later down the line. The Canelo-Beterbiev fight is THE fight for everyone.

Of course PEDs are helpful for boxers. That's why they take it. They make you stronger, more explosive, let's you train harder, recover faster etc etc. And Olympic teams for countries such as Russia and China are all centrally controlled. Watch Icarus (on Netflix) about the Russian doping programme to get a better understanding about this.

I’ve seen Icarus. It’s a complete logistical impossibility for a national organisation to administer to athletes across all sports and tamper across all sports. That simply doesn’t happen, when doping is part of a national culture they have to pick and choose. It is high risk for low/zero reward if you want to dope a boxing athlete. Remember how the guy in Icarus experimented with peds, that was his whole premise and how he got in touch with his Russian contact? Remember how his performance got worse in a sport where theoretically it should have really helped? I’m not saying they don’t work but I’ve never seen a shred of evidence that they would help a boxer. I know a lot of boxers who take all sorts of sports supplements and we know they do nothing, I know a lot of athletes who tie their shoelaces in a certain way for good luck.

I don't think they've ever been any scientific studies on how PEDs affect the results in any sport (since it would be highly unethical - especially in boxing), so of course there isn't a shred of scientific evidence. But there is evidence that it makes you stronger and recover faster. So you have to apply your logic to that.

And we know plenty of boxers have taken them and we know that Soviet/Russian Olympic athletes have taken PEDs throughout so I see no reason why it shouldn't apply to their boxers.
