Explain how Canelo's team FORCED Plant to turn down the offer?

    That's what is mind boggling.

I could understand (not agree) why PBC would try to sign Canelo to a multi-fight deal.

But for the life of me, I can't understand why Plant who fights one to two times a year would pull out of a fight when you consider 1. He has already fought this year. 2. He made 750K (highest payday) and will make 10 million with Canelo. And 3. It seems like he wants to fight should Canelo get injured or sick and still be paid 10 million.

It doesn't make sense to me.

Didn't Floyd only have 2 catchweight fights in his career? What else are you referring to? Judges, refs etc or things negotiated in the contract.

Plant is pathetic. Now he'll be remembered as the guy who ran away from Canelo. Who cares if he's the B side, if he had confidence he would have taken the fight and make the most of his career. I hope he fights Benevidez next and gets knocked out.

This is the best case scenario.

    By a mile.

If the rumours of 172 are correct, that's realistically close enough to 175 that you'd argue 3 pounds won't make a difference to the result, providing both have had a full camp. Bivol has weighed in at 173 and 174 multiple times, so the weight wouldn't be a huge deal imo. But combine that with a short camp, and then it becomes more of an issue. Much much more of an issue, to the point where the fight is almost meaningless from a legacy point of view.

Fighting in November gives 3 huge possibilities.

    1) Reopening negotiations with Plant
    2) Securing a fight with Bivol at 172 where the camp is long enough
    3) Negotiating a fight with Beterbiev which is the dream.

So yeah, this is the best case scenario imo.

heres a thought. beterbiev said hes ready, bivol says hes ready at 175, so why dont those 2 fight each other, and the winner will have twice the negotiating power next time they sit down across the table from canelo. anyone see a problem with that?

He will never fight Beterbiev at 175. Never. Ever.

Check that. In 7 years he would. Beterbiev would be mid 40's and Canelo only 37.

I remember when people said he'd not fight Trout or Lara. I remember when people said he'd not fight a lot of guys he ended up fighting.

If history shows us anything, it's that Canelo will end up fighting the best in whatever division he's in.

I'd just rather it not be at a catch weight.

Clenelo didn't have enough time to cycle some clen by September or Adelaide Byrd was going to be on vacation.
