In the traditional sense, it's a measure of one's talent and skill. How you rate and compare a boxer's attributes to other boxer's attributes independent of their weight. If that criteria has changed, and it's become "fanboy fiction" then the problem is that it's deviated from what it's supposed to be about.

This is something that I've noticed over time and on many occasions tried to bring it back to what it's supposed to be about : a measure of skill, talent, with a focus on recent performances. Many "fanboys" if you will try to make it more about resume, which is important to judge how a fighter performs against a high level of opposition, or even results (judges decisions) but that isn't the basis of what it's supposed to be about. It's mainly about how you rate a boxer's skill set, talent and effectiveness as a fighter, their capabilities, their versatility, their mentality, their ability to have success against different styles.

So in conclusion, Pound for pound ratings aren't fact based, but at its core, it's supposed to be a list of who has the best skills, talent, and boxing attributes, who is more capable and effective as a fighter. Experience, resume, results, records all play into that, but that's not what it should be based upon. Traditionally, it's a rating of who fans and boxing aficionados rate in terms of skill and talent, anotherwords who are the best boxers in the world independent of weight. Taking weight and size out of it, so rating the best boxers on a "per pound" basis.

Bro y’all be crying y’all ass off about Canelo if we’re being unbiased outside of the 6 rounds GGG won in the first fight and Kovalev who reasonable could have been up 6-4 at the time of stoppage none of these guys have won more than 4 rounds MAX

You can hate you can cry all you want you don’t win all them fights by paying off judges or opponents that’s too many killers from top to bottom and the only person who you can definitively say with no argument from anybody at all that he lost to was the greatest fighter of his generation and one of the best of all time in Floyd Mayweather. You gotta be able to fight and have skills to do that y’all need to come over to the light and stop hating and enjoy this greatness that being put in front of us because win or lose vs Bivol, Canelo is undoubtedly THE greatest fighter currently fighting

Kovalev is old, way past his prime and has an absolute cracked chin and body. He was looking good and boxing Clenelos head off for a while, then he tired and gassed. Clenbuterol knocked him out clean.

Yildirim is a bum. Look what Eubank did to him and how Clenelo managed to "stop" him.

Callum Smith was drained to ****ing hell when he fought Clenbuterol and i think at 175 Smith would do a lot better. Clenboy never came close to get a stoppage there.

Plant and BJS were doing actually quite well too. BJS arguably was leading on a fair scorecard and Plant was winning rounds handily early on. Plant is well known for his bad gas tank and he gassed and got stopped. BJS quit after a punch broke his orbital bone which is bad luck. How often a high profile fight like that is stopped by a broken orbital bone? Rarely.

Fielding was a bum and weak to the body.

Jacobs fight was actually close but Jacobs did what he usually does. Less enough to impress the judges.

We all know that GGG 1+2 were razor close fights where Clenboy should have a L in the first fight. That series should have been a 1-1 after 2.

Overall Clenelos record isn't as impressive as people think it is. There are a lot of asteriks in his recent fights and a lot of them could have gone another way IF a) the opponent had a better gas tank b) the judges weren't bought.

Bivol is definitely not a gasser. So if there is no BS hidden weight cut clause or something he should be absolutely fine. I think people will be surprised how close the fight is and how well Bivol does in open space (not so much in the pocket though).

Nevertheless i have no faith in fair and accurate scorecards. People tend to score close rounds for Clenelo just because he comes forward and throws a big power shot every 30 seconds. You saw in the BJS fight where BJS was jabbing his head off and still a lof ot people scored those rounds for Clenbuterol - like the judges did as well. It's pathetic but it is how the game works and why Clenelo is a $$$ printing machine.

I'm going with Clenelo by Decision and i think it'll be another debatable one where you see a lot of good and fair scorecards scoring it for Bivol. Bivols style isn't great to win on the road though so be prepared for another home cooked decision in Vegas. The anti russian bias recently will do the rest.

These guys acting like Canelo got so much better after the Mayweather fight. I don't see it. He is a fantastic fighter, well trained, dedicated etc. I say put this version of Canelo in with the same Mayweather(same size) and the result will be the same. Bivol has everything he needs to win. And if Canelo fights the same way he did in the 2 previous fights, walking straight in, no jab, no head movement, Bivol wins easy.
