The play by play guy was confused as to why the doctors were even looking at Garrido as there was no evidence of a cut or anything. Xavier Porter surmises (correctly IMO) that it was just a routine precautionary check out of concern for how many blows he is absorbing.

Porter has it 4-3 Seldin, the play by play guy has only given Garrido one round.

    Round 8

Seldin is leaping in with left hooks now, aiming high on the head. Garrido able to back-step and make him miss. Garrido shuffling to his left and swiping at Seldin with quick but not powerfully turned-over counter left hooks. Seldin turns southpaw again, pumping soft right jabs into the chin of Garrido while trotting after him in pursuit. BIG 1-2 by Seldin after switching back to orthodox in mid-stride, landing a right cross on the side of the jaw. Garrido lands a hooking combo while turning Seldin but can't slow him down.

    10-9 Seldin

    78-74 Seldin

    Round 9

Seldin is letting his left arm dangle low now, pulling him down like a counterweight as he lowers his right shoulder and starts to pound on Garrido's sides with heavy upper-hooks. Garrido is showboating after escaping to ring center, playing matador along the ropes, dropping his elbows to protect his body and leaving a breadcrumb trail of light jabs on the forehead as Seldin marches after him. BIG LEFT HOOK lead on the cheek by Seldin, rocking Garrido. Powerful straight right through the guard by Seldin. Garrido is getting backed up now by double and triple left jabs from Seldin, swaying on the outside and crossing his arms to screen out punches, defending himself in between counter chopping combos. Seldin finding him in the gaps, and landing some blistering right hands. Garrido tired but hanging in there, soaking up bombs and trading leather willingly in the pocket with the stronger man. Big left hook by Seldin, right hand, left uppercut. Garrido flurries back.

    10-9 Seldin

    88-83 Seldin

    Round 10

Huge embrace at the bell. Mad respect between them after nine rounds of breakneck warfare. Then, moments later, back to work. Seldin is absolutely tearing into Garrido with body and head shots. Garrido is wrestling his way in and pushing down on Seldin's arms, landing some counter jabs to needle and annoy Seldin. BIG hooks and right hands by Seldin at mid-range. Body shots by Seldin, swiveling his hips. Seldin working uppercuts on the chest and backing Garrido up. Long left hook on the body by Garrido. High knifing jab from the waist by Garrido, caught between the pinched forearms of Seldin. Still responsibly defending, Seldin is coming forward throwing 5x per second even now in the tenth, pushing for a KO. Seldin southpaw again. Stiff right jabs flipped up by Seldin, following through with left crosses on the bridge of the nose and left uppercuts on the belly. Garrido is sweeping wide left hooks in response and taking short chops with the right on the brow of Seldin. Trading nonstop until the bell. Big hooks from both by the ropes.

    10-9 Seldin

    98-92 Seldin

Garrido goes for another bookending hug at the end of the 10th but Seldin jilts him, as he's in a bad mood. I think he's mad at himself for trying so hard to keep his high KO rate intact but failing to even put Garrido down. Shouldn't be so hard on himself, the Frenchie's made of absolute iron.

Porter has it 6-4 Seldin, his broadcast partner has it 9-1.

Seldin gives a backhanded GGGesque compliment to Garrido "he was like a little baby toy I could bat around the ring, which is exactly what I wanted from Star Boxing Promotions, somebody tough and with an okay defense that I could just beat up on and bat at like a baby toy and get some rounds in, even though he punches like a little girl".

Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing gets interviewed directly after Seldin and in equally braggadocious New York style announces the upcoming schedule for his outfit:

Demetrius Andrade vs. Alantez Fox in October at Turning Stone Casino live on HBO, then Constantin Bejenaru making his first WBC International cruiserweight title defense on November 25th at Mohegan Sun, and then supposedly a "very big" forthcoming announcement within the next week regarding Cletus Seldin's next big fight which should happen before the end of the year.

They actually had decent team chemistry for a first time working together at the announce table. Randy "The Commish" Gordon is the other guy's name, btw.

That is only the second time Seldin has gone the distance since Clarence Booth six years and six days ago (September 23rd of 2011). Booth has done fairly well since then (going on a five year unbeaten streak and scoring a few upsets, and only losing subsequently to unbeaten prospects Alex Saucedo and Sergei Lipinets) and that win has aged well.

So remember former 140lb champ Devon Alexander? He apparently is a) making a comeback, facing Nicaraguan slugger Walter Castillo on Tuesday headlining a PBC on FS1 card and b) was Seldin's chief sparring partner for this camp.

Here's a minute of them going at it:
