Headline from Sky Sports sums it up - an immature performance from Cleverly against Nadjib Mohammedi. Cleverly ran out of ideas, and at one stage was defending like Audley Harrison, hands high, not moving. He would have been stopped if he was against a puncher. Hopefully he'll have learned a lesson, and be less arrogant and more respectful of his opponents in future. On this showing, he's got a lot to learn, and doesn't have the ability or boxing intelligence to be truly world class.
I think you are being a little harsh. What needs to be remembered is that he is still very young and has time on his side. That being said, tonight was interesting and was a reminder to Clev that he will need to come up with a Plan B as he did rum out of ideas. For me, he would benefit if he got a different trainer as I think he needs to work with someone who has experence of working with promising talents and making them realise their potential.
I don't think he's made of the right stuff, he'll fold once he's put in with a genuine world class operator who'll expose him big time, he'll collapse mentally once someone gets the jump on him & he'll be out of there.
This. He needs to be far more patient and calm, his temperament was horrific. His inside game, variation and body work where absolutely horrific tonight. He will beat fighters that come straight at him but fighters with a slippery defensive fighters will cause him real problems.
Everyone has a pants fight now and then, he won the fight at least. Perhaps he learns more from this than an easy night. It's a wakeup call for sure.
