You beat me to it. That's the only part of that article that grabbed my attention. What a load of bollocks.
Before and after the fight it was obvious that Bellew was at the very least in Nathens league so I don't get your point.
I agree with Rob in this instance. As far as we knew, Bellew was just a gobshite who knew what to say.... and he sells tickets - easy decision to make the fight for Allegedly. He just expected Clev to blow him away inside six rounds, or failing that a one punch KO by Bellew setting up an instant rematch. The last thing he expected was Bellew to outbox Cleverly for the majority of the fight, and be awfully unlucky not to get the verdict. I did say before the fight that Bellew would be the boxer and Cleverly the puncher/slugger, what surprised me most was the ease at which Bellew handled him in the first three or four rounds. With a bit more self belief I think Bellew would do a job on him if they met again soon, I don't think going into that fight that he had that belief, despite all his bluster beforehand. Cleverly meanewhile is going backwards, looked awful in his last fight against a 3rd rate sparring partner.
'I took Bellew to school over the distance' :rofl First half of the fight Bellew taught Clev how to box!
The Americans are getting deja vu from the last time and undefeated welsh world champion came to their shores and cleared up
Clearly passages from that article were just intended to wind Bellew up. I imagine the writer was chuckling to himself when he wrote it. As for the quality of NC's proposed opponents Uzlekov is fairly poor (bloody awful against Shumenov after a good start) and Robin Krasniqui was worse than Karpency.
Schooled! Haha, for me, lost the fight.. If Cleverly said this, he's as delusional as Vince and ****** :-(
