Wonder if some on this forum is going to favor Cleverly like most did against Kovalev back in the day?
Don't like this fight. Ward will stop him quite easy. Ward should fight Fonfara. Much tougher fight, one he would probably win but Fonfara is a tough nut. Cleverly took a tremendous beating against Fonfara, there's no way he'll be even 75% of the fighter he once was in his next fight.
I think Cleverly should take the fight. Should be a decent payday and win or lose he can say hes fought the two best 175lbs fighters of his generation. Also I don't think Cleverly will discredit himself, can't see him winning but he'll put in a good showing. Worst thing he ever did was move up to cruiser.
At least he was wise enough to pull out of the Makabu fight, which should have been his debut at Cruiser.
Very true. I think Kovalev crushed his confidence when he beat him, Cleverly obviously looking for excuses as to why he lost. But for a clever bloke he hasn't half made some terrible mistakes/decisions since Krusher.
