Great post but I must say I think 50-50 is a stretch

Thinking about it though, even though I rank Frazier higher, I have always thought, that even in Joe's prime (except in the FOTC; Joe was indestructible that night, not that he was just having an unusually good night either) a really explosive puncher (Foreman) could stop Joe if he attacked him full force in the first three rounds when he was most vulnerable. I think Cleve has the potential to win if he goes into the fight with that game plan, but I would still favor Joe in this fight.

What if Williams was prime but also shot? I think it would fuel his motivation, and he would last an additional 7 seconds. But look, I’m not an expert.

It is too bad Williams did not get a title shot earlier, maybe against Floyd Patterson, when he was champion.
