If Williams came along 20 years earlier in the 30s, do you think he has more success than in his era or does he do about the same?
Seeing as he doesn't share an era with the H2H GOAT, and another H2H monster, both in their primes, I think he does much better. Even more so if he doesn't get shot, and given the right timeline and matchmaking, he might even get ahold of the title briefly, if he avoids Louis/gets his shot before him.
I don't think much would change. Sharkey thrived against such opponents, Schmeling was level above him as well. Maybe if he got lucky and get a title shot against Carnera or unmotivated Sharkey he has a chance, but it's unlikely. After Louis starting his run, his chances would be non-existant.
I'm probably Williams' biggest fan but I don't think he ever beats Louis at all, outside of landing a one in a million freak punch.
Your reading comprehension skills are about as adequate as your ability to score fights. Try rereading my post. I was referring to Ali and Liston who were H2H monsters.
What kind of sadist would throw Cleveland Williams into the same era as superheavyweights like Carnera?
