Cleveland Williams is nowhere near even Ingemar Johansson in any OBJECTIVE metric.

Nope, Lamotta 167lbs stopped the 165lbs Satterfield . Lamotta had 72 fights under his belt Satterfield 16.
Both were supermiddles in todays parlance, they fought in 46 , when they were classed as light heavyweights.

Hairsplitting nonsense. You are forever calling Randy Turpin a middleweight when it suits you.

Lamotta is a famous middleweight. A middleweight champion.

Satterfeild losing to Lamotta is no different to Cokkell losing to a middleweight Randy Turpin. Get over it.

Lamotta fought at lhvy several times Turpin did not.Turpin was outweighed by Cokkell by12lbs!
Turpin at 162 lbs was only 2 lbs above the middleweight limit Cokkell at174lbs was just one pound inside the light heavy limit. As usual your post was duplitious and intentionally deceitful.
    Lamotta was a light heavy for;
    Satterfield
    Fox
    Nardico
    Murphy x2
    Taylor
    Hairston
    Hunter
    Hairstonx2

Yeah, a MW beat Satterfield. That's all that was asked, and it's convenient that you leave out Williams being very past prime.

Williams had split a pair of decisions some months previously with Archie ATG, who was fighting a novice when he took on Satterfield.Williams was just 31 years old.
Two months before beating Satterfield, Williams had beaten
    Aaron Tiger Wade.

He'd have more 15 fights in his career, and he'd only win 5. He was 31 years old, and had been in 160+ fights whilst fighting tons of ATGs, whilst moving up through the weights and had been a pro for more than a decade.

He was most definitely past prime.

Firstly Jake weighed in at 167 which is well above middleweight.

Secondly Satterfield had 16 fights under his belt to LaMotta's 70+.

Spinks was famously a Light Heavyweight too. Was he a light heavyweight when he beat Holmes?

    Nice try.

He was losing fights but not to nobodies or novices.YES or NO?

Past prime yes very past prime no.Very being the word you left out second time around, lol. In his next fight justa month later Williams took on Marcel Cerdan and the AP thought he deserved a draw.

Lets not pretend he was some ancient has been.

According to Eddie Snow in the European Edition of the New York Herald-Tribune, 10,000 fans were present. "Williams gave a fine display..He was scrupulously fair, fast, and tough. He took everything Cerdan had to give him, which was plenty, and could have taken a little- though not much- more. Although he has no more punch than a flea, he was not scared to get in close and mix it...Cerdan was handicapped by a damaged right hand--which he was unable to use with any effect after the fourth round. He fought hard and hit hard, and deserved his victory..Even when a recurrence of his leg injury in the eighth round slowed Williams down, and left him with no option but to cover up and absorb all the vicious left hooks which the Frenchmen could dish out, he never looked like being knocked out..I enjoyed the fight, because it seemed to me to be a good exhibition of boxing science and fighting determination between two men whose styles are poles apart."
