It’s nice when your memory serves you very correctly - especially now having The Ring Mag. at our fingertips and knowing what you’re specifically looking for based on memory.

I remembered this article well from when I read it years ago.

I also remember being a bit disappointed that it curiously didn’t include photos of The Big Cat as he was as at the time. Ah well, a good article all the same.

It’s the January 1980 edition of The Ring Magazine with a portrait of Cosell taking up the cover.

The interview was done in 1979 as it references Cleve as being 46 yo and his gun shot wounding being 15 years prior.

Though not an uncommon theme in boxing, his manager, wealthy Hugh Benbow, reads like an absolute piece of you know what.
