The Williams of 1960 comes to battle the Holyfield of the Bert Cooper fight. This promises to be a fan friendly fight

I agree about it being fan friendly. Two brave fighters who were fit and comparably sized and could both punch. Would have loved to see it. Ultimately I would favor Evander to win but i can see it being exciting

Great action fight while it lasts....EH is a junkyard dog in the ring while CW is a killer as well the difference boils down to better skills, engine and balance. CW always had an issue with poor balance while EH didn't have that issue and that is where Holy overwhelms CW

I think someone should point our that Williams was a pretty basic fighter whereas Holyfield was a technical master.

Totally agree. And that’s one of the reasons why Holyfield should win convincingly. But I can see this quickly turning into a trading affair early where both land some hard leather before it succumbs to an eventual stoppage in favor of Evander.

Whether it makes a difference or not, a slightly tweaked version of Holy also, previously the Dokes model, this time the Bert Cooper version.

I’m waiting for @swagdelfadeel ‘s take on this before I post my own, stand alone opinion re the chances of the greatest fighter ever to come out of Georgia.

Both are among my favorite fighters (Holyfield is number 4!) but I’m afraid the answer is obvious. One of them is just on a completely different level than the other unfortunately.

I don’t think Cleveland Williams punch resistance was that elite.

I wouldn’t favor him to do it but Cooper had him down
