I am a bit surprised this has a got a second page. The only thing up for debate is if a Williams in his pomp can get a retirement win rather than a very wide decision.

Cobb was a 'character' when the division needed it, and was not without ability, he would beat any fighter who did not crack the top 25 of their time. But Williams in his pomp is fighting for a top 50 spot of the Heavyweights of the Queensberry rules era.

I don't have fetishes.Nor irrational dislikes of boxers.
"Williams was an aggressive, two-handed hitter who carried real dynamite in each fist; He was a very powerful hitter who is most famous for his "showdown" battles with Sonny Liston; He may have become Heavyweight Champion had Liston not been around at that time." CBZ

I don’t have irrational dislikes of boxers at all. I do-have a dislike for certain theories that I feel lack credibility being promoted into fact, but I don’t think there is anything irrational about that at all. What is wrong about using factual evidence against a theory?

CBZ says Williams May have become champion? Oh I guess that seals it... I can’t think of a champion he was certain to beat. Can you?

I also can’t think of another guy who’s best win was over a Billy Daniels type fighter who ever could have been considered championship material. Billy Daniels to champion? I can’t see it.

Look. The Liston vs Williams fights were great entertainment. And so was Joe Louis vs Tami Mauriello for as long as that lasted. Henry Cooper vs Ali too. Nobody is quite rightly talking about HenryCooper or Mauriello becoming a champion had it not been for somebody else.

Sonny Liston was so far ahead of Williams. The guy was legit greatness. A much better fighter. But a lot of great fightersalso come through entertaining battles without their rival always going down in folklore as an otherwise uncrowned champion. The recorded evidence won’t carry it.

I just wish he would learn how to spell Field correctly.
The grammar of some on here is appalling.

I would like to see some evidence to support this view if I am honest. I just don’t think there is any. No disrespect.

You seem rather hostile. For no reason. What’s the basis of your claim? I would like to see detail to support this.

    And still without explanation.

There is no evidence Williams deserves to be on another level to Cobb based on his wins. True or false?

These are just ideas of mine you disagree on without evidence to disprove any of it. We are all free to have our own opinions here. I’m sorry if you are upset that I won a few debates with you. It was never personal.
