Bentt's win over Morrison says a lot more about Morrison than Bentt. What was his ranking when he fought Morrison? Who did he beat of note before he fought Morrison?

He was knocked out by Jerry Jones (who?) in the first round.

This is insane. You tear down Williams resume but give Herbie Hide credit for beating a FOURTY YEAR OLD UNRATED TUCKER WHO WAS 2-3 IN HIS LAST FIVE with his 2 wins being over obscure names.

Actually considering, a number 3 ranked Ellis had been knocked out in a round by Shavers years earlier, I'd be embarrassed if Williams had to go the distance with an even more shot version of him.

Bonavena hadn't had a credible win in 6 years, and was visibly slowing down.

Shows how much you know about the sport.

Despite Shavers loss to Lyle he did MUCH MUCH better against common victims.

For example knocking out and drawing with Young. They both faced the exact same version of Young (Lyle-Young was immediately after the Shavers rematch). Shavers floored and drew with Young, while Lyle was laughably outclassed.

Shavers knocked out the number 3 rated Ellis, while Lyle needed to go the distance with an even more shot Ellis.

Lyle barely scraped by an MD against Bugner, who Shavers stopped in the 2nd round.

Seems you know even less about human anatomy then boxing.

    1. Williams was dead as well. He died 6 times on the operating table.

    2. Lyle's injury was not more severe than Williams not by a long shot. He lost a life-threatening amount of blood, but the knife didn't hit any major arteries or anything which was not the case for Williams when he was shot. Williams lost ten feet of his intestines, and suffered permanent partial paralysis in his hip, a broken hip, and an atrophied leg due to nerve damage but yeah of course we "can't even blame Williams and his gunshot wound for his bad performances" after his shooting.

But yeah I forgot, according to you and Kompton, Williams injuries didn't affect him in the slightest and he coincidentally ended up going on an extreme diet at the exact same time to drop 60 pounds just for the hell of it.

Where are Lyle's similar injuries after his stabbing? What permanent injuries did he incur?

    3. Funny. You were singing a completely different tune about Williams' injuries in previous posts.

    Again, Lyle beat Shavers.

It doesn't matter how they did against common opponents, when comparing the two, because they fought. Lyle knocked him out.

You don't need to compare how they did against similar opponents to try to figure out who would win.

    They fought.

Lyle beat Ellis. Lyle beat Bugner. Lyle beat Bonavena. AND Lyle beat Shavers.

What this has to do with Williams, I have no idea. Williams didn't fight any of them.

If Cleveland beat any of them (Ellis, Lyle, Shavers, Bonavena, Bugner), you'd never shut up about it.

I said Cleveland Williams was a veteran and a contender before he was even shot.

What big wins did Williams have after that? None.

And I said Lyle died and was brought back before he ever had a pro fight.

All Lyle's wins came after that. ALL of them.

Lyle didn't beat all those guys and then get stabbed.

Lyle beat them all AFTER that. He beat everyone he ever beat after that.

Was Cleveland ever dead on an operating table BEFORE he turned pro?

If not, the STFU up about it when comparing him to Lyle.

You don't seem to know anything about that era or who anyone was.

Michael Bentt wasn't unranked when Hide knocked him out. Bentt was the WBO champion.

Tony Tucker wasn't unranked when Hide knocked him out. The title was vacated by Bowe. They were the top two contenders.

Nobody had ever blasted out Tucker prior. Lennox knocked him down twice in a decision win. The one stoppage loss in his career was so to a swollen eye. Knocking him out was impressive. It hadn't been done in 59 pro fights.

Nobody had ever knocked out Tommy Morrison like that, in Morrison's home state, no less. But Bentt wasn't intimidated. When he was the top rated amateur in the US, he beat Tommy Morrison. And he felt he could do it again. (And he did.)

Any of these names ring a bell?

How do you know Curley Lee and you don't know who those guys are?

How many Curley Lee fights have you seen? How many times did you see Cleveland Williams knock out anyone?

You're so lost, you don't even realize comparing Williams to Hide is a compliment. Hide fans should be the ones getting pissed.

Williams was a failed contender. Williams certainly dldn't knock out all but one person he beat until he was in his late thirties, even if a lot of them sucked.

Some of those guys weren't even ranked in the top 10. Mathis and Ellis for example

And both were still miles better than the "ranked" "contenders" that Williams managed to beat. That includes the "semi contenders" or "not yet ranked contenders" that Swag uses to try to prop up his man crush. It remains comical to me that every week we have a multiple page thread about a guy who beat a couple of fringe contenders in all of these mythical matchups. To each his own I suppose but Ill say again, if Williams didnt have all of those muscles his fanboys wouldnt be drooling over him squeeking by Billy Daniels.

    Game, set and MATCH.

****ing embarrassing really and talking out of his backside as usual. Arguing for the sake of arguing as undeniably proven in your post.

Your being ridiculous. Mathis even at his best wasn't very good let alone the totally shot version that Lyle fought. I would assume several Williams victims could beat Mathis let alone the version Lyle faced.

Wasn't Ellis losing to Boone Kirkman by the time he fought Lyle?

Mathis was shot at 29 and having only lost to Ali, Frazier, and Quarry? Lol, get real. Daniels wishes he was as good as Mathis. If he was he wouldnt have lost as many fights as he won.

Ellis dropped Kirkman and lost a split decision to him. Oh and Lyle beat Kirkman as well. Yeah Id take Lyles record over Williams any day and any version of Mathis snd Ellis is better than anyone Williams ever beat. I stand by that.

Didn't Daniels beat the number 2 ranked Doug Jones?
Did Buster Mathis ,any version of him, ever beat a top ten ranked contender?

It doesn't matter how they did against common opponents? Are you joking? A H2H matchup between two men doesn't matter nearly as much, as how they do against common opponents.

The loser of a H2H fight, could very well do better than the rest of his field than his opponent. For example, I'm fairly certain though Holyfield would likely beat any version of Tyson, Tyson would do much much better against the rest of the field.

As I stated, countless times. If Williams went the the distance against the version of Ellis Lyle did, you and Kompton would never shut up about it. "Wow, Shavers knocked out the number 3 ranked Ellis in the first. Williams had to go the distance with a washed unranked Ellis". It's ****ing hilarious how you two mock Williams for needing to go the distance with Billy Daniels who was you know, actually ranked and just upset the number one contender Doug Jones, while simultaneously giving credit to Lyle for skating by an unranked shot Ellis. Make it make sense.

Again, what permanent injuries did Lyle suffer in comparison to Williams? Lyle suffered extreme blood loss, which while deadly, if caught in time, most, if not all damage resulting from the lack of oxygen is reversible (that's assuming they didn't damage a vital area).

As I pointed out in previous posts, you yourself testified to the extent of the damage Williams' shooting did to him, and now you're trying to argue it basically had zero effect on him. Like JT said you're literally arguing just for the sake of arguing.
