Cleverley: "Hit me on the chin and I'll just shake it off'

I can't see how us posting on the forums could say who was a good trainer and who was not, we dont know enough. We only see 12 mins a fight and you cant gauge it from that.Theres stupid amounts of hours put in by a trainer to their fighters that we dont see, so i think trainers being bashed on here is mindless and somewhat a little personal.Not having a dig at you mate, i just think having places 1 and 2 for nelson and booth is silly. Theres trainers out there who have probably more experience or just better all rounders than the two you mentioned but they have'nt the big name fighters to back them up.Bellew says his smashing everyone up which is normal i think. Do you want him to break down his plan before every fight for us? Not happening. I agree that Bomber and gavin are at the wrong weights though:good

 

Also, if i was in these trainers positions and i have people(boxing fans) commenting on how good the trainers were or were not and they dont even know how i operate with my fighters in my gym i think i'd be hopping mad at the ignorance of it. Rob Mccracken and arnie farnell are the future trainers and nelson and booth of this country, they seem to be getting weirdly analysed

 

Give the man a chance with his fighters. Your far to premature with your analysis. Being held back ? in what way ? You know frank warren lines the fights up dont you ?

 

3) His last two opponents might have performed to the very best of their ability, making Tony look below par.

4) Bellew might have just had an off night. It happens to everyone involved at every level of sport.

I've been critical of Bellew after his last two fights, but it's far too quick to start slagging his trainer off and the man himself. He's had 2 below par performances and is still unbeaten.

He takes the time to come and post on here and is fully open to constructive views on his performances. I don't think you can ask for more than that.

 

There is my point on why arnie cant be as good as booth and nelson, you can only go off past and current successes when awarding any managers, Nelson has a champ in burns and has many a contender under his wing, he can hardly put a foot wrong. Booth has a successful but very small stable, he cant scrub up a rough diamond the same as nelson can.

Back to the initial point topic, if i was bellew i would forget the cleverly figh and just move up in weight, his last 2 fights have seen him fall. Against a top fighter his weight drained legs will fail him, a move up is a the only way to get things back on track i.e cotto

 

Funny as **** , , i was pissing myself watching that , although i must say this , i didnt know Bellew and Cleverly were that open about what they think about each other , i thought things between them were pretty ammicable , clearly not

 

No one can say A definately beats B everytime. Theres to many variables in boxing to say this. Im a fan of Cleverly, but Bellew imo would pose a very real threat. Cleverly has got macho tendencies and can get drawn in. I honestly think they could meet in the centre of the ring and have it out, this seems to be in both of their natures. If cleverly started banging with bellew..... who knows? I can see cleverly out boxing him but feel he would want to prove his point as bellew would have him going in the build up imo. Also bellews shots look a lot shorter than cleverlys so he would have advantages in exchanges.
