Nathan Cleverley v Dean Francis for British Light Heavyweight title 10th October. I think francis will win.
Nice to see a Sports Network fighter challenging for a proper title. Good luck to the kid - but I feel it is a bit sudden for him.
cleverly needs to outbox him but we saw that an out of prime as he is francis can go inside and be very effective. that left hook has become his main weapon. cleverly will get stoppped. he hasnt shown anything to this poitn to beat a class act. so this concludes a frnacis stoppage.
i have always rated francis very highly, although u never know with cleverly, he might have no power but he can certainlky box, he does spar the best light heavyweight in the world every day.
I am a huge fan of Francis and think he could still have something to offer on the world stage if his shoulder can hold up. I doubt he can win a title but he has alot of class and is on a far different level to Cleverly. Dean by KO round5.
I've changed my mind.. i think cleverley will win, but only because warren will pay Dean Francis a hefty fee, to do so, Francis will have money in the bag, warren will then be able to say the new calzaghe is coming through, and get the public going again, he will be making lots of money through that, all the while giving us sh!tty title bouts, just like he done for calzaghe.
i think Cleverley has the skill to outbox francis but cleverley has not got the power to put him out so can see it going to the cards with cleverley winning by 4
francis is no mug. he is apretencious and arrogant but the guy is a warrior. oakey a tough tough ******* was doign all he could but couldnt stop him when it was too late. to which dean lets rip of a truely amazing left hook. has anybody seen it. i have never seen oakey knocked like that. he has also shown he can out box bigger men and is starting to become more of a hooker/inside combination puncher than a pure slick boxer that he was when he fought gbenga. in which he didnt throw more than 10 right hands the whole fight. dean francis ko is obvious how can anyone think cleverly can win this?
I agree how can anyone think Cleverly can win this, the guy had a draw against vages at best and got hit with aload of shot's if Francis hits him with one of these shots then it will be a KO. He can not punch so there is no chance of a lucky shot from Cleverly, Francis will destroy him in 6/7 rounds, he is a total hype job if he never trained with JC nobody would know who he was. And i doubt Warren has any intrest in him now him and JC have split infact it looks to me like Warren is setting him up.
Huge credit to Cleverly for taking this bout but seems like he's the anti-Khan: taking a bout like against a proven, quality domestic opponent after only a dozen pro fights at a lower weight seems like madness and I can see him getting stopped but learning a lot, going back to the drawing board and improving for the experience. Far more worthwhile then fighting a conveyor belt of bums...
