1st of all Congratulations to B-hop on a fantastic achievement :happy:happy:happy Pascal fought like the only way he knows how, WILD, I think he may have too much muscle at the weight, he looked gone after about round 5..... He needs to get back to basics because that was a terrible performance from a WBC champion. NOW... I believe after 2 more fights against top opposition that Cleverly beats Hopkins :ban1 Not because he's a much better boxer than Hopkins but because of his workrate, the only time Pascal had any success was when he was throwing more than B-hop, same with Calzaghe, Calz couldn't outbox Hops maybe no-one can. I think Clev is one to watch at the top level, he's certainly beatable but he has the stlye to beat B-Hop :bbb
Hopkins would give him a lesson it would ruin cleverly to go anywhere near him cleverly is a world champ but has hardly beaten anyone of note to get there don't believe the hype just yet, he's proven nothin also warren will protect him like you've never seen now degale has a loss on his record be lucky if we get clev/bellew
Hopkins would beat him pretty easily. Pascal is a much more accomplished and ,at this stage, a better fighter than Cleverly. Cleverly is also pretty wild, little defence, I just think he'd be made to miss. His only hope would be if Hopkins gets old in these "2 fights."
Cleverly got caught from short punches on the inside from that Pole a couple of times, Hopkins has a short left hook down to a thing of artistry.
He hasn't got the style to beat Hopkins. Hopkins is that well equipped I don't think you can highlight any particular style that is his kryptonite, and it's certainly not Cleverly's, who's like a less polished Paul Williams. What's needed to beat Hopkins more than anything is a high work rate and being able to beat him to the punch. Clev can do both, so I'd see him winning a few rounds, but not beating him any time soon.
That would possibly be the most boring fight in boxing history aswell. Both known for spoiling in the past. Agree though, Ward will give him problems.
Not believing the "hype", he's clearly beatable, give him a world class trainer, let him develop against solid opposition for 2 fights and I'd give him a good chance v B-hop, he's got a proven chin he's been hit hard several times, he reminds me of Calzaghe in that respect, it just spurs him on to fight harder..... :bbb
I would agree if the rest of the title to this thread was 'at a maths test' Otherwise I completely disagree
